Need some help/advise on 19" wheels...
thinking about getting a set of 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 for the camaro but got a few questions
they have a +35mm offset...do i need any spacers?
what is the widest tire i can run on the 9.5 rims? (i want to run 245 in the front and as big as i can get out back)
and how much work is involved to get 19's to fit (if anyone has any experience)?

Those wheels are designed with a 4th gen offset so yes you will need spacers. Theoretically running 19's is no different than running 16's. Choose the right sized tire and you will maintain the stock tire diameter.
Keep in mind a 19 will be a pretty heavy wheel. Not to mention you'll have to be a little more careful on those not so friendly roads due to less sidewall.
If I were you I would run a 245/35 up front and maybe a 285/30 out back. PM Kandied91z- he's running 19's.
Good luck bro.

not many companies make a 285/30 out back. i'm running a 295/30 after previously trying 285/35 which is too tall.
19's are heavy but they look nice, if you want a car for power steer away. as far as offsets, the only right way to do a set of 19's is to have them custom fitted. such a big wheel will show off the adapters in a bad way as well as many other bad things down the road.
the other problem is cost, it's more expensive for 19 then 20. i love my 19's, if you have the money go for it but they are expensive.

i am building a pretty powerful motor and want to run good times and thats why for the track i plan on grabbing some drag wheels and slicks.
so jeff are you saying its a serious no go with 19s and spacers? i wont mind the look at all, ive got nice brakes up front that should stand out pretty well. especially if i can use my spacers i have now which dont look bad and are only 1 1/4". with that dish i think i wouldnt need the 2" spacer like most 4th gen wheels require but maybe mine will do?
the actual wheels i want arent very expensive but i do plan to drop 1000+ on tires. i do know someone that can get a pretty good deal though on tires.
i still need to know though, how wide of a tire can i run our back? a 295 would be awesome if i can fit it on 9.5"
and i still dont know if i should paint the gunmetal gloss black or leave it alone...

you can run a 295 on a 9.5 wheel. It have a bit of a fat look, and you'll have to play around w/ tire pressure to get you contact patch even though. Personally I say go billet. Then you can eliminate the spacers altogether to keep from having that brakes a mile back look. PLus, good billet wheels are lighter than cast wheels which is a big plus for hp.

ver true, if i could afford billet i would certianlly(SP) go with it. luckily with these wheels the brakes wont be as far back as some ive hated because of the offset and me only needing 1 1/4" spacers. im not too concerned about loosing HP because when it matters i plan to have a set of drag specific wheels and tires.
i dont, however, want the buldging tire look. i might go with 285's and hope they dont balloon out too much. its tough finding pics of 285 or 295 etc 30 series 19" tires mounted on rims and on a car on the internet

why would a 295 be great? it isn't the right width for the rim.
$1,000 for 19" tires your not getting anything nice, unless it's a 5 dollar discount or used. tires are very important. expect to pay $230-400 min a piece.
as for adapters, they don't look cool in any situation but they do work and serve a good purpose. eventually you'll get rid of the adapters either way.

thanks for the help jeff. a 295 would be great because i want the widest tire possible but if its not the correct width then it wont be used. im still learning here...
i do plan to pay approx $250 per tire ($1000+ for 4) after i talk with a friend of mine that can get a slight discount on them. im positive down the road ill get the Fiske wheels i want or a good set of custom billet wheels that i can design but that time is not now. $600 for wheels and $1200 for tires is much better than $3000 for wheels and at least $1200 for tires. my bad decision on wheels is killing me so badly right now i need something new and as an owner of the wheels i want already im hooked.
thanks again though im in a daze from searching backspacing, offset, wheels, rims and the 4600 posts that come up when i type in Kandied91z
