offset formula rims

Anybody put front offset formula rims on the rear axle? I've got 16" factory alloy's and the front has more offset than the rear and I was wondering if I could get ahold of another set of front's, would the increased offset on the rear help with a loose condition?
I'm looking for someone that has tried this for first hand info! Not a bunch of theories! OK? Thanx! Sqzbox

The rears have more offset IIRC, they are +20mm

Yeah, increasing the rear track definitely seems to make the rear stick better around corners. I doubt the little bit of track you'd gain would be very noticeable though. I noticed a nice difference when I put my 4th gen rear in before I swapped to 'vette wheels. The rear definitely stuck better around corners with the added 3 1/4" of rear track.

The other advantage of running four front wheels is that you can rotate tires front-to-back then as well, whereas you can't put stock rears on the front.

Also, I believe some rears were +20mm and some were +16mm. Depends on the type of wheel I think.

What about the spacers that came behind the rear's? If I get a set of front's, should I toss them?

You should send them to me Might not have the same problem I do now once I get my narrower rear rims on next season. Going from 18x9.5 to 17x8.5. Want the width, but don't want the extra inch of wheel

You shouldn't need those spacers, even with stock wheels. I didn't have them on my car and my car came with the aluminum rear drums and 16" TA wheels.

Spacers

Spacers are only for 16 in rear drum (cast Iron) not aluminum
drum

I was pretty sure they were for the aluminum drums with the 16" aluminum wheels. To my knowledge, the iron drum cars didn't get the spacers.

I ran 4 fronts on both of my cars, 4 front GTA's and 4 front Formula wheels.
Gives a nicer stance, makes it easier to rotate tires, etc...

Zepher, When you put the 4 fronts on your 88 did you notice any improvement in the handeling? and what did you do with the spacers? I have the same wheels and would like to keep the car stock looking as I can. As far as trying to run it in autocross now, it's a joke! It's like someone squirted oil on my back tires at the starting line! The front end goes anywhere I point it but the rear
end is another story.

I can't really say that I felt anything different when I went to the 4 fronts, but then again I just drove it on the street.
The tires were different as well.

I just put the spacers in the garage somewhere.
