Steering shaft rebuild

Ok
I did a search and couldnt find anything on this. I am rebuilding my front suspension. I have all new front end parts and now I am looking at my worn out steering shaft. Is there any way to rebuild them. It looks like they have some sort of rag joint and a type of u joint. Is there replacement parts, shafts, mods to the shaft to stiffen steering. Any help would be great.

Its a Non-servicable unit.So GM doent sell parts.Just a new one(about $200+)There are no rebuilts sold either at the auto patrs stores(only universal rag joints).Heres my fix for my worn out rag joint.posted more pics in this category(billet disc = rag joint eliminator),but i dont know how to link it.

GM discontinued the steering shaft, so don't bother going to a dealer. Unless they have one in stock (which is highly unlikely) you won't get one there.

I think it's the HELP! range who do replacement rag joints - disc and bolts = Part 31002. Disc, bolts and splined joint = 31008 (I think).

Mark.
