17x11 rims

i am looking to put 17x11 rims with a 315 35 17 bfg kd tire on my 89 rs, what backspacing is needed to get this to work, the wheels are 6-8 weeks away so if someone could help me out i can get them ordered, thanks.

You'll want to keep the backspacing below 6" or so. I've done as much as 6.2", but under hard cornering, the tire may rub against the inside of the wheelwell by the trailing arms if you don't have solid rod ends on the panhard bar. If you're sticking with stock ZR1 offsets, you can use our 1.25" billet adapters for the 36mm version, or 2" adapters for the 50mm offset 17x11 ZR1's. On the other hand, if these aren't ZR1's and you can get a 6" offset w/o adapters, that will work too

Would you need adapters for ZR1 rims if you have a 4th gen rear end in the car? Don't mean to but in, but I'm interested in the same combination.

Thanks,
Jim

The 4th gen rear is 2" wider per side, so you wouldn't need adapters. It's similar in size to a 3rd gen rear w/ 2" adapters. I hope this helps!

6” BS on an 11” rim is roughly 0 offset… anyone have any pics of what that looks like with a tire as wide as a 315?
