feels like suspension is bottoming out under sharp acceleration??
when i accelerate it feels like my suspension is bottoming out on the rear passenger side....it will squat down and "thud" .....kinda feels like when on a bike with underinflated tires and the rims hit the ground on bumps.......anyone know what this may sound like?.....i want to say it has something to do with the torque arm cuz it seems to only do it when i accelerate....nothing on bumps or curves.... i havent had a chance to get it up on jacks yet to inspect it but i was just wondering if anyone on here could help narrow it down by just the description of the problem.....

i dont think it is that...because i have had that problem b4 and it didnt feel like this.....but im kinda hoping that is what it is cuz that is easy to swap and it is cheap like you said
but i dunno....cuz last night i remember i was turning in a parking lot and i didnt punch it but i did acclerate...and it seemed to kinda walk the rear end over a little bit when it shifted into 2nd....it was STRANGE....
i'll have to check it out when i get it home...where i actually have a jack i can put it up on...

My 85 berlinetta is having the same problem. I took it to my mechanic last night and he said an oil leak had caused the tranny mount to deteriorate and quoted me a price of $29 just for the part...Now today he calls back and says the price he quoted was for an aftermarket mount and that the only one that he can get to fit correctly is the factory mount from GM and that will run me over $100....I know very little about this stuff--Is this mechanic bending me over the hood or what??

No problemo Matt. Glad I could help.
ChevyMetal305, yeah hes trying to screw you over big time. Goto the local Napa or Checkers or whatever and you can get a replacement for under $5. It also takes about 5 minutes to install. The poly ones are around $20.
