Must KILL rubber LCA bushings
I got a frount LCA even tho I ordered 2, dumb asses.
I pressed the ball joint out, now how should I get the rubber bushings out?
The LCA wouldn't realy fit on the press, but I wanted to get sand blasting them so I didn't fight with it to long.
I tryied to hang the LCA off the edge of the press and push the bushing out through the center. The bushing wouldn't line up to the ram that way.
It is a full sized press so it is phyicaly big enough to fit the LCA in there.
Now should I lube it with oil or some thing?
I'll go back tues day and try again, I also have an arbor press at work I could try.
Last time I removed bushings like this I burned them out with an Oxy fuel torch.

I usually cut into the rubber part with a Knife to make romm for a recipocating air saw and then "slice" the sleeve of the bushing so it`s not a complete circle anymore. Collapse the bushing slightly at the cut and then The bushing will come out with a few swift swacks, hope it helps...I`m sure others will let you know the way they go about it too

I burn the **** out of it with a torch (it will sort of look like one of those fireworks "snakes" and usually will spit the inner metal piece out. After it has done it's thing the rubber, what is left just pops out and all that is needed is to do a little prying to pop out the metal sleeve.

A drill works very well for getting the rubber portion out. then just pound/cut the remaining metal shell out.

On both of my cars we took a chop saw and just cut down the middle of all the bushings, then used an air chisel to get the halves out. Work pretty well, but when you cut down through them you get a lot of smoke and flying hot rubber. Works well though.

I was going to say that works also with a saw zaw :-D . Done that before cutting out the middles then using the air chizel but dont do it near ur car cause the halfs will come shooting out sometimes.

Don't do it near my car
My car is 7000 miles away.
So the bushings have 2 steel halfs around them? or is it a sleve? (on the out side)
I just don't want to think I got them out and them have some extra metal in there when I'm trying to push the poly ones in.

Every, one buy stuff from jerriko, I paid some guy $70 for 2 LCA's that was like over 2 months ago and I only got 1 LCA.
If they don't give me my $ back or the other LCA I'll make there name known to all.

We don't have auto zone or napa or advanced over here.
I will go ask the toyota place if they have a tool to knock them out.
I bet it will be like $80.
If a car tool cost $10 back home it will cost at least $20 over here, becasue the can.
