AHHH my centerline telstar wheels dont fit!! HELP PLEASE!!
Well, as you would expect i just got some new wheels and tires, centerline telstars for the back and front. the backs are where i am having a problem i tried test fitting the rim (no tire) and the outside of the brake callipar (rear disk) is rubbing agains the outside of the rim. I am trying to fit the 15x8 with 4.5 inch back spaing.
What can i do or what other sizes are out there that can solve my problem. I have alredy bought and mounted my fronts which i must ad fit fine. 15x7 3.5"bs, and i want to keep everything looking the same.
I was concidering just grinding off the tiny bit off the brake caliper heat sinks which is , what is rubbing. it is not actually the regular flat part of the inside of the rim but the vally you use to install the tire that is rubbing on the callipar.
I see people use these wheels often but i have never cincidered if they have drum or disk rears.
Pleas help me i am also giving centerline a clall in the morning just incase,
Eli

so just grind them down it wont hurt anything or effect colling too much? and with that minor mod you have had no problems with your welds?
How much clearence would you say is neccisary?

I put some Weld pro-stars on my 92 today, 15x8's on the rear with 4.5'' backspace. Mine also would not clear the fins on the caliper. Instead of grinding them down, I used Mr. Gasket 5/16 spacers. This solved the problem. This is an old post, but may be it can be useful to someone.
