Tokico Illumina shocks vs. KYB AGX Shocks.. Which ones are better??
Both are adjustable, both are around the same price.
Which ones are better? and how many settings does each one have?
My car is a do it all daily driver. I drive it every where and take it to the drag strips, and the autoX tracks.
On the street some times I drive norm., sometimes I drive it hard around the turns.
I know drag, and handleing takes 2 very diff suspension set ups

i got the illuminas, i love them! they ride great, they can be cranked up to be extremely stiff but they still maintain good ride thru quality valving. I don't have any experience with the agx but putting hp's up against standard kyb's is no contest. Tokico is on par with bilstein and koni

Another vote for Tokicos here, but I've heard from people who have used them and Konis... and the Konis are even better.

Tokicos by far. They are probably the best adjustable street shocks/struts out there. You simply pop the hood and EASILY adjust the strut with a screwdriver from the top. For the rears just pop the hatch and they adjust the same way as the fronts. You have to completely unbolt the konis in the rear to adjust them which really sucks.

I went with the Tokicos because the rears are so much easier to adjust than the Konis. But I've heard that the Konis are easier to tune with because they only adjust the rebound or bump, depending on the set you get. They have single and double adjustables. I've heard that the Tokicos adjust both at the same time and can be more picky that way to get right.
Now that I've said that, I'm not even sure if they offer double adjustables for 3rd gens, I know they do for the 4th gens.

like I always chime in on these threads
on the rx7 crowd the tokico isn't the high end strut
the KYB AGX seems to be the strut for choice being they have a wider range and have quite a bit of duribility to them as well.
the tokicos are quite a bit softer on the hard side then he kyb's are and so forth
but koni yellows are the shiz

Thanks guys for the info.
I'm lookig for shocks/struts that has a wide range.
I want ones that I can set softer than OEM up front at the drag strip, alittle stiffer than OEM during the week on the streets, and a good bit stiffer than OEM about once a mo for auto X tracks.
Plus I live out in the country where the roads are anything but good, so I can set the shocks diff for what part of town i'm driving it. Close to half the roads out here are still dirt/gravel
