Help!! stripped lug nut

I stripped my lug nut really bad. I've so far tried:
1-torquing the other lug nut all the way
2- smaller socket
3-stripped bolt remover (this one made it worse)

What's next ? Should I remove the spindle then punch out the wheel sutd?
any advice???? thanks in advance

Your pic doesn't work. If you can't get the lug nut off, you can't press the stud out. If you have to, you can drill out the center of the stud until the nut falls off, and then press out the remnant of the stud and replace it.

You can buy a nut cracker. It looks kinda like a vice. Itll split th nut and it will just fall off.

had the same thing happen, I tried chiselling it out for 2 straight hours. I ended up getting a 12 pt socket and hammering it onto it and jumping on my breaker bar.

lol, don't you love last resorts. I had to drill out as much as I could, which wasn't much because the studs are hard sobs! Then I twisted up and down for a few minutes until it finally broke off.

I tried to use 12 pt socket but I stripped it more. I think this lug nut was torqued over than 200lbs. BTW are you guys able to see the pic?

Mine was a bit worse, had it chiseled pretty badly. Im pretty sure you can still get a 12 pt on that, but if you can get a hold of the "nut cracker" the guy mentioned above, im sure that would be your best bet.

Use a cobalt bit and lots of cutting oil and it'll go through the hardened studs like butter.

my uncle just had this problem on his car the other day we used a punch and kept driving it on the left side until it broke loose a little then grabbed it with a pair of vise grips and removed it maybe we just got lucky .....

I saw this nut cracker on eBay but .
it will not fit in my IROC wheel but hey I got an idea, I can bust the nut with an impact hammer.

if you have access to a welder, you could weld a socket onto the nut.

if you use a welder on it man make sure you have some thin sheet metal to put around the wheel or you will get splatter on it ...and that would suck bad

i normally use an airchisel which has never failed me. before using the airchisel i would use a tapered socket from snap-on.

i think welding would work well. i would make a hole in a towel and tape it around the lug then wet it. weld the center of the nut.

Hell at least you didn't stip out the key to your Gorilla locks like my buddy did. Unfortunaly he had all of the lock nuts. Meaning all 20 nuts were locks.

Stipped out the key w/ about 4 left to go. We had to bleed the brakes after a motor/tranny swap in a 97 Z. Needless to say there is only one key for every set of those locks supposively. Well after more than a few hours, a bunch of JB weld that didn't work... a few beers and a couple Jack and Cokes... I came up w/ this plan to take apart a Gator Grip, use the little pins inside a 22mm socket taped in the correct positions, hammer it on... and then blast that thing off w/ the impact...

Never thought it would actually work!!! :lala:
