Confusion on tire size selection. Help!

Ok I have some 17x9 Snypers waiting to be put on. I have all 4 at 17x9 so it's going to be that size all the way around. Now I decided on 275/40/R17 for the back tires but it's the fronts that I am confused about. Originally I was planning on running 275/40/R17 all the way around but I keep reading about something might be needed to be tweaked to make that work. I don't want to have to adjust anything. What size tires should I go with up front where there will be no tweaking? 255/45/R17, 255/40/R17, 275/40/R17? I need some help guys. I think I confused myself and need a little clarification

I run a 245/45 up front. It is ideal for a 8" wide wheel but I love the way mine looks. I do not rub either with sportlines.

Will the 17x9 bolt up with no tweaking in the front? I read that some people were told that minor tweaking might be needed to use 17x9 in front. Is this true? What tweaking is that they are talking about? I most likely will run a 255 in front but should I go with a 40 or 45 sidewall? I just want to make sure that all I need to do is mount the tires to the rims and bolt them to the car. I don't want to have to be tweaking stuff on my car to make it work. That's one of the main reasons I went with the Snypers is because they are the correct offset.

There isn't any tweaking to do. The tweaking they are refering to is if you have a 275 tire up front. Plenty of people get away with a 275 and a drop up front without any problems. A 275/40 tire has a 4.33" tall side wall. So for a 255 to match that you would want a 255/40. A 255/45 would be taller than a 275/40 and be at 4.51". A 255/40 would be 4.01".

Ok thanks Shifty. You really cleared it up for me. So my selection is going to be 275/40/R17 in back and 255/40/R17 in front. Sweet now to go get the tires
