Does ANYBODY make Female Bubble Flare to Male NPT adapters?
You know - you would think that by now some company would make female bubble flare to male NPT adapters. I mean - why WOULDN'T they?! From 1985 forward all of our cars have bubble flares. If you want to plumb a line lock or adjustable proportioning valve then you have to get your stock male bubbles into the 1/8" NPT ports of either the line lock or the adjustable proportioning valve. I looked around all over the place on the net ... a LOT! Weatherhead, etc. ... you name it. But, nobody seems to make these. These types of adapters would go like hot cakes if somebody made them. It would make installing a line lock and APV so freaking easy.
Yea, I know I can chop off the bubble and reflare it for inverted flare (i.e. double flare). But, you would think that they would just have these adapters available. A female bubble to a male inverted flare would work too (because the adapters that are female inverted flare to 1/8" NPT usually come with the lines locks and APVs).
Freaking aftermarket. Somebody could make a killing on these adapters if they made them. I mean a killing!

tim knows where to look. the boards not here.
basically i said weatherhead and aeroquip makes a lot of fittings. two parts stroes near me sell a lot of differant adapters, not sure if they have exactily what tim needed but they have a lot.

ok, I'll ask tim. I just wanted to put my contribution somewhere it might be found, with whatever other info.
I have not found the specific adapter mentioned, but I did solve the problem. I'll try to find where you're talking about and put it there, then I'll come back here and put a link so others aren't as confused as I am.
Its probably a competitive board maybe? ok, I see...
Heres the text I'm putting elsewhere...
a weatherhead 7935 adapter from NAPA gets me where I wanted... no cutting, no flaring.. it *IS* possible. 7935 will convert a 11/1.5 thread, bubble master cyl to a standard thread double-flare brakeline. Slip a pipe-thread to inverted flare adapter in the linelock, and you simply bend a couple of off-the-shelf double-flare brakelines and you're done. This is for putting LL in BETWEEN the MC and the PV.... which is what I choose.
I really needed an ANGLED 7935... that would make my particular install cleaner.

Weatherhead 7935 is for a 3/16" line...it will work for the front (line-lock), but not the rear (adjustable proporationing valve). The rear uses a larger (1/4" IIRC) line.

It isn't accessable, doesn't exist, or is it a double-secret moderators-only board?
man, I hope its not secret... I CAN find it, I'd just be miffed that info is withheld! :/

I'd like to talk about the merits of installing the linelock between the MC and the PV verses after the PV. I guess its ok to try that question here. sooner or later I'll catch on to the 'other board' joke... but for now I'll continue on...

between having a modded suspension, it being a convertible, and putting a rear disc brake setup from a diffrent car on, i think its time i just went to a adjustible one.
i would like to hear any good reasons to keep the stock PV.. (other then the light thats currently annoying me)

couldn't be a moderators board since kenwood isn't a moderator. isn't a double secret board either. it isn't even here. it's just another board tim asked the same question and i replied there. i didn't want to type out hwat i had already said once before.

What you're saying is detailed a few parts:
Since you don't need the rears to engage first (no drums) then the rear pre-braking function (metering valve) of the STOCK PV not needed (did you replace your drum PV with a disc PV? If not, ever notice a delay when braking?)
Since you want to be in control of the brake bias (F to R) then you don't need the prop-valve function, you'll put your own in. Long as you know what you're doing with the adjustable PV, its safe enough. I'd go with a top-of-the-line unit if I were eliminating the factory PV.
and finally, since you don't care about the light and its function (the exception in your question) ...
then theres no need for *you* to have a PV in there at all.
*me*, I'll keep the PV for the idiot light function. People other than me drive the car. People other than me RACE my car.
Just last week, a stainless brake line that had been on a buddie's car came OFF the T on the rear. snapped clean at the swivel joint. the brake light came on of course... and he noticed the pedal right away... his wife, well, she might not have given it a second thought and just pressed on the brakes harder each time... might not have even reported it to him.
a "good" reason to ONE person is not a good one to others, so you're essentially fine with PV elimination given your skills and circumstances.
