SFC's Help or Hurt Acceleration?
Okay I just installed SFC's on my car and damn they are great. The only thing that bothers me though, is the fact that I added 40 extra pounds to my car. I know its not that much, but adding any excess weight to my car bothers me.
To make me feel better I have read that having SFC's actually improves your acceleration.
Is this true? Or are SFC's just extra weight that will slow your car down? (even though I know 40lbs is probably less than a tenth of a second)

100lbs=.1 off your time slip..........
lets weight the obvious. what will they do for you. strengthen the chassis giving the uni-body more support which equates to less body fless, rattles, etc. also don't forget that this helps with traction.
how do they hurt you......well they took some money out of your pocket and added 40 some pounds (which seems heavy for a normal setup) to weigh you down.
i think you'll be fine.......get more power to your ride before you worry about them slowing you down.

I've been thinking about this too for a while, so I've come to the conclusion that less body flex means more power to the wheels.
Twisting the body at launch takes some power (hp), after SFC's i assume that with no twist this power would show up at the wheels.

I was thinking about getting a set of the Jegster subframes. I've heard a lot of good about them and I want the ability to install them myself. I don't wanna pay an extra $100 to get them installed.

My opinion would be that in the qtr you might lose a bit of mph...however your 60' time COULD be improved if you are deficient in that area and thus your overall elapsed time. When I installed Spohn SFCs in my car, I recall a better feel to the car, more consistent 60' times (no improvement) and no difference in my 8th mile times or mph. I did do some weight reduction at the time so not a competely fair comparison. My car did have enough power at the time that I was told my car looked crooked going down the track...and that the SFCs fixes this.
