Uneven fender gap after Eibach ProKit install

About 6 months ago I installed a set of Eibach ProKit 1" drop springs on my 89 Formula along with new front 1LE lower control arms. Since then, the spacing between my tires and the fender is uneven from side to side in the front and about one and a half inches higher in the front than in the rear. I asked around after putting them in and was told by several local shops that the springs will settle and I just have to give them time. I'm not so sure this is the case seeing as how it has been six months and no change. Everything seems to be in place under the car, I would just like to know if this is a common probelm and I should keep waiting, or if someone has seen this before and knows what might be wrong. I decided to go with these springs due to there good reputation and the way they make to car look compared to the factory ride height. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

is this right after u took it off jack stands? ull need to drive the car down the street and back to get the front to settle. but if it still doesnt, u might not have got the springs back in the indexs right.

You do not have the springs sitting in the perch correctly. Check out board member ebmiller88. He has a great picture guide on how to dial in your spring install.

dude, 6 months... that doesnt really sound right to me. granted, i havent gotten springs put on my car, but i have never heard of anything like this. a few questions to ask... are the springs positioned in there correctly? are all of the spring isolators in place/in at all? has the car been in an accident in which something like this woulda been affected? are the front springs mounted in the front/rear springs mounted in the rear?are they mounted upside down?

just trying to help out man... when you find out what it is, post it up......
good luck

Thanks Shifty...

Hey Blue man, you have to index the springs in the lower spring bucket of the A-arm. Click this link and look at the pics and what they say, that should do the trick. Sucks that you'll have to pull it apart again to fix it, but ya gotta.

The rubber isolator also has a stop on it,which is about 1/2 in tall. The end of the spring should be against it.Or maybe you left out the isolator?

The front isolators are simply flat pieces of rubber, they don't have any stops on them. The new style 4th gen rear isolators do though.

Thanks for the replies. I believe that the problem is probably that I did not properly index the springs in the A-arm seats. I will, within the next few weeks hopefully, be taking the springs back out and trying to reseat them. I'm hoping this is all that it needs. The car hasn't been in any accidents or anything like that, and it sat level with the old springs installed. This is where lack of attention to certain detail will get you I guess. Thanks again. I'll let you know when I get this straightened out.

I know the fronts dont, but 3rd gens rear isolators also have a stop.He mentioned installing a set of springs.I assumed he meant Fr/Rr.Even if one Rr spring isnt against the stop it will make the fr on the same side sit higher & even the opposite side fr/rr to some extent.

I will be sure to check the rear while I'm under the car too. Thanks.

I have the exact same problem, my dirvers side is .5" lower than the passenger side, I pulled the springs and reindexed them perfectly, the isolatros are taped to the top of the springs, I don't know what to do either
