skinny tires on 16x8 rim

I got a set of 91-2 z-28 rims that im going to use strictly for drag racing. im going with m/t et streets for the rears. i want to know what tire size you guys recommend for the fronts. i want to go as skinny as i can for less rolling resistance, but i want to keep it safe and driveable enough to and from the track. i think a 225 is about the limit for an 8 incher, but if you guys know otherwise tell me what you think.

You could probably find a shop that can take a couple inches out of the width of the wheel.....then you could go as narrow as you wanted.

It might be tough to find a 175 65 16 tire though.....

get a set of 15s for the front and you could go a 195.... i dont believe they make a 195 in a 16. i think 205 is the smallest in a 16. mount the tire and look directly down from a top view. if the end of the tread doesnt meet each end of the wheel, it isnt safe for street driving. the tire could dismount from too much sidewall flex. plus, you could be driving on the sidewall if the tread doent match up.

I like the stock 91-92 wheels and like the TheGreatJ said you can have them cut down or made wider like the ones I have.
