Retracting Drum Brake Shoes ?
On an 86 w/ the clip in wheel cylinder retainer and 9.5" drums, what needs to be done to get the shoes to fit inside the drum?
I put on new cylinders, new shoes, new spring kit, and the drums are freshly turned.
The cylinders are able to be collapsed further. The star adjuster is fully threaded in / retracted. It seems that the e-brake lever is pressing on the rear shoe more than anything, but I already unthreaded the adjuster under the car for the e-brake all the way.
I've done plenty of discs but I haven't touched drum brakes in over 10 years so I'm rusty (and so are the olde parts )
The only thread I found w/ a similar situation after a few searches was this: http://thirdgen...id=56992
(but I'm still searching)
thanks
Matthew
