my brakes junk??
well I had a little encounter with a 4th gen. T/A ...I had just turned on this road and was driving pretty easy because I had just washed my car.. well I saw this car come flyin up beside me
and saw it was an F-body car so I punched it,I was in second and all it did was start burning well needless to say this moron was already crankin and slowly made it past me..well I couldnt do anything but stay on his bumper, well when we had got to the end of the road and I went to stop the smoke poored out of the passenger side front wheelwell and I didnt have a clue what it was, so I drove home and looked and all I could see is that the rotor was unreal HOT ....are my pads just cheap thats why they smoked or what could it be? I know theres alot of stress when you do a hard stop after 100+MPH but my other 3rd gen. never did it should I try higher quality brake pad?
oh and to finish this story ,the guy went home and told everyone he kicked my a$$.... Its pretty easy to get by someone if your already on it and there just gettin going...I went to this guys house later on after this and challenged him to a real race...He said he cant race his girlfriend will get mad so I guess now I have to live with hearing how he kicked my a$$ just because he's too scared to line em up

dude you have no idea...my car is pushing over 300 H.P. to the rear wheels...and yes its actual been dynoed through its mods , Ive beat a 96 Camaro Z at the track, and other 3rd gen. Camaros with 350's, and this guys 97 T/A is bone stock, the reason I know I can beat it is I know the previous owner of this T/A ,I have even drivin it before this guy had bought it
but anyway...say you go to buy front brake pads what would you buy if you was hard on your car as far as braking ?

I like Hawk pads. But the improvment may just be minimal. You really need a bigger rotor then the stock 10.5" discs are. And that means a brake upgrade.

I just got C4 brakes for my car, but haven't put them on yet. I went to corvetteforum.com and posted a want ad for C4 calipers and carriers and ended up getting the calipers, carriers, and rotors for $50. Is that a great deal or what? I can't wait to put them on. If you want to learn about the different brake upgrades the stickies are in the FAQ section.
