Kontrax,

Those specific mounts were made my Karl Hunter of HunterMotorsports. he made i beleive 20 sets a few years ago. you can get basicly the same the same thing (actualy has a couple of advatages vs the ones i have) from Spohn.

http://spohn.net/product.cfm?productid=1452

if you REALLY like mine they only have a couple thousand miles on them. if you order me a set of spohns, i'll part with mine.

Ah....but we have THE originals...and I believe that Karl isn't going to make any more.

Only 20 of us have the original Hunter Motor Sports camber plates....the ones that started it all. That's pretty exclusive.

Nothing fancy just the bare essentials.

KYB, Eibach, Spohn.

Add corresponding parts to the front, along with 34mm front and 24mm rear sway bars. Well, heres the pic. All Moog linkage and ES bushings.

So who did you go with for your tubular stuff. It looks like PA racing. Am I right?

Here is a quick shot of my rear suspension with various spohn stuff and springs.

You should do a weight comparision to see how much the tubular stuff saves you over the heavy and bulky stamped stuff. I would love to see that.

I don't know the exact size of the tube.

Heres the part #'s

Shocks - B46-1021

Struts - S36-0201

And I'll see if I can find a way to weigh the K-members to find the weight comparison.

Hey Shifty, is that panhard in the pic a spohn piece? Looks differant than the pics on his site. The mount on the bar looks like it goes together same as the rod ends only it's a poly mount. Looks like I could attach it in place of a rod end and make my full spherical rod ended bar a combo setup.

Yes it is a spohn piece and it is the basic single adjustment one. It has a poly end on the other side (out of the pic) and a rod end on the driver side (axel side). I'll see if I can dig up a better pic.

What does the steering brace really do for your suspension?

Prevents any deflection/flexing during hard cornering
in the lower front end of the car. Does like a strut tower
brace does, but instead of reducing top end flex on
corners or even hard accel, it reduces the bottom end flex.
Also, does a great deal to keep the steering box in place.
Reduces flex is the main purpose!

EDIT: I also noticed that my power steering doesn't
groan/whine in hard turns anymore! So, it's a real
benefit just to help with the steering box from flexing!

Yeah, "The Wonder Bar" aka "steering brace" or vesa versa...
You got the idea now. They are both the same thing.

Now go get one. You will feel a difference.

Please click on this link and read for details! :

http://www.spohn.net/product.cfm?productid=1392

EDIT: here is the description right from Spohn.net:

Is this adjustment a gimmick? Honestly, a resounding no. We built one of these after a serious brain storming session just to see what it would do. We were quite honestly amazed at the crisp steering response it provided, so we decided to offer it as an option. What the adjustment allows you to do is place pre-loaded tension onto the front sub frames. It makes for a very tight front end!

I think I should be the posterchild for Spohn.net! LOL
I am like "pushing" all of there products here!

This is true, and necessary if you had lowered your car!
I had to get an adjustable panhard rod after swapping
in the lowered coil springs. One side was sticking out
almost 2 inches more than the other.

As far as adjustable lower control arms, it is mainly
for more traction when you lenghten the LCAs. But,
can still be used to help correct any rear end alignment
issues (dogtracking). Although, our Hunter Alignment machine
at my work does not show any adjustments for rear, because
it is fixed anyways. Most RWD vehicles with fixed rear
suspensions usually don't have any adjustments. But
that's usually just pickup trucks/some SUVs. Some RWD cars
have adjustments. It all depends on make/model/year,etc.
It varies so much.

Kontrax,

My friend gave me the thumbs up for using his garage
for my GMPP 350/ T-56 swap! Coolness...! I may have told
you already, but I had to make sure with the guy about
it again. I'm excited! I haven't done any major performance
mods like this in years!

you use hunter too? heh. the adjustable panhard is also good if you use a different wheel. i used a different offset 15 inch wheel with the lift on my car and had to re-align the rear. i hope all goes well with your swap i wanted the stick myself, but im pushing big power and i like the ease of auto. i have a GTA with a stick im going to work on next though. 1st thing is a total rebuild on the suspension. i plan on sticking with BMR products. im impressed with all the stuff i got with them before. to bad they dont make 3rd gen k members.
