My stepdad wants to put different tires on his 69 Camaro Z28 RS with the 302. He wants to put 245/60/15's in the rear and 235/60/15's in the front. He wants to know if they fit and also, if they do, would they fill up the entire wheel well or would there be a lot of wide open space between the tires and the body. If those don't fit then what size would fit and fill up the wheel well. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

It have the 6" or 7" wide wheels?

 

IIRC the stock wheels were 14". So he'd need aftermarket wheels.

They'll fit fine, especially if he uses 7" wheels in front and 8" in the rear, with those tire sizes. Lots of people have been using those sizes just like that for years and years.

Make sure he stores his OE 14" Camaro "rally" wheels, so he can restore the car to originality at will, if he still has them; and especially if he still has the center caps and trim rings (the full set).

 

16X8 WILL FIT FRONT AND REAR WITH 255 50 16" TIRES TOO :lala:

Stock on the Z28 i think was 15x6 Rally wheels... i dont think there were 14s on the Z28.
