Their not cheep, $450-$500 each, but very popular with autocrossers. You can get the centers polished or in black.

there isn't much description on that site...hre, fikse, and many other popular 2-3 piece aluminum wheels are lightweight. they make designs that are very similar to the gta wheel and if you have the money can make anything you like. expect to pay upwards of 1,000 a rim though and you'll still need tires. my boze 2 piece wheels are very lightweight but they don't make anything in that style. they are a little cheaper at 7-900 a rim depending on style.
i know there are a few cast wheels out there as well, the lightest cast wheel i've ever seen so far is from centerline i believe.
http://www.centerlinewheels.com/whee..._id=4&sw_id=27
however it's designed for the imports so you will need adapters to fit them. i think they are 42mm+offset so you would need somewhere between a 1.5 and 1.75 adapter more or less.

you might check with some of the racing wheel manufactors, alot of them make some sort of crosslaced looking wheels.
i would check out forgeline, simmons, iforge, ect.
be prepared for the $$$$$ for those wheels though, i would guess that forgeline and simmons make some very lightweight wheels, and thus why they are so popular with the road racers.

i'll second the suggestion for the CCW's...
CCW is a HUGELY popular lightweight race wheel in autocross and roadracing
why are they so popular? well, they are purpose built RACE wheels which makes them strong enough for the job, but not the best looking wheels... but that's great becasue it keeps the price down... ~1750 per set (REAL racing wheels are the cheapest, but they are UGLY and only come in 16" sizes)
another plus about CCW is that $1750 covers any size you want...
so a 18x12 will cost you the same as a 16x8..... so you don't have to settle for 17x9..
if you're considering CCW, don't judge them by their website(they don't need a nice website because of word-of-mouth advertising amongst racers)
Call John@CCW.. he'll give you all the specifics
i've had 2 sets of CCW's... 17x11's with 315/35 Kumhos on my 2000 Z28...
and currently i'm running 16x10.5" with 275/45 Hoosiers on my '89 IROC...
