Which Tires

I got some 16 inch Tans Am wheels for my firebird. My bird came orginally with the WS6 16 inch firebird wheels (the ones that look like the 15 inch firebird wheels). But the orginal owner of the car for somereason had put 15s on it. Anyways, I am going to finish re-doing the ta wheels over the next mo. It will be painted gunmetal to match my lower 1/4 of my car. and then polished lips. Any ways I have been shopping for tires I want to get some good tires, that handle good in the rain, the ones I run on the 15's handle great on the dry, but in a hard down pour it always feels like its on the verge of hydroplanning. What 16" wheels would you suggest I am thinking of these.

Yokohama AS ES100's they are
Treadwear 280
Speed ZR tires
traction A
temp A

BFGoodrich Radial T/A
Treadwear 380
speed SR
Traction A
Temp B

Kumho Ecsta Supra 712
Treadwear 280
Speed ZR
traction A
Temp A

Pirelli P7000 SuperSport
Treadwear 320
Tractio a
Temp a
speed wr

Pirelli Nero M+S
Treadwear 400
Traction A
Temperature A
Speed Rating ZR

Also Falken Ziex ZE 512 (never heard of these b4)
tredwear 360
Traction a
temp a
speed zr

Oh yea I live in GA so no need to worry about snow, I just don't drive the car in snow. All of the tires I listed go for around 100 per tire give or take a little. I want to stay in this ball park, but would like a good tire for rain/dry and good traction performance.
Anyone Suggest one over the other, or a better tire for around 400 a set.

I don' know about all those other tires, but my Firestone Firehawk SZ50 EP's are amazing in the rain/wet roads, as well as dry roads.. they are a little more pricy, but well worth it in my opinion. I've driven around 100mph on a wet highway, and had no regrets, not even a hint of hydroplaning, granted I wouldn't want to go through a big puddle at that speed, but you get the idea.

245/50-16 Firehawk SZ-50 EPs. THe only way to go. Potenza 750s are really nice too. If you can find SO-2s, they rock, but they are might spendy....

Not sure how far away you are from where I am, but If you can get here I can get you some Fulda Carat Extremos (Very nice German tires). Very sticky tires that are great for handling. Treadwear is around 180. They are Z rated and directional. They go for $138 but I get them for around $55 a piece. $260 for 4 and I'll mount them for free. I have them, my bother has them, and my neighbor will soon have them. As well as a guy at my work who also has a 3rd gen. We all LOVE them. If your interested just PM me.

If anyone else is interested just let me know.

Here is a link to em . the tire displayed doesn't look as good though.

I also live in GA. I have a 91 GTA with the 16x8's on it....stock GTA rims. Anyway I got kuhmo esta 711's from Butler tire in marietta for around $350.00 mounted and balanced. Ask for Gary. They are the 245 50 HR16. I know they aren't Z speed rated but I am very happy with there performance so far. Good grip and cornering.

i would say goodyear g1 gs-d3's, a hair higher priced, but a GREAT tire.

btw, stay away from the radial t/a's if you want performance.

DEFINETELY STAY AWAY FROM T/A RADIALS!!!......My car had those on it when I bought it. Total garbage. I used to work at Sears in the automotive department and had to stock those things. The side walls are so soft when you pick them up by the sidewall they used to flex outward. I would say that they'd make a good drag tire because of the sidewall flex but alas....they are a harder compound so they don't hook....not even good for drag racing. Comp T/A a little better...softer compound and a better sidewall. If you can afford them hes right about the Goodyears. I just think that Goodyear prices their tires a little higher than they need too.
