91 GTA vs. 86 Camaro Weight Difference
I have a 91 GTA and I also have a 86 camaro sc. I know the GTA's are heavy but how much heavier than the 86 camaro? I want to strip the camaro down and put my TPI in it when i do my 305-350 swap. Is the structure of the camaro the same as the GTA (ie. Frame)? Of the subject, what are LCA's?

Depends on the details of the 2 cars; but probably in the range of 200 lbs difference.
Where in Memphis are you? I lived there a long time, from the 60s to the 90s, mostly in Midtown and near Memphis State.

Actually I live out side of Memphis in Tipton County. Munford to be exact. The GTA has leather, t-tops,4 way adjustable Lumbar seats, all options including stuff like rear defrost, power windows, power locks, power hatch, and etc. The camaro is the most basic model w/o a/c , cloth seats, etc. Could i strip the GTA down just like the camaro an get the same weight?

I have the same year, do you have the WS6 suspension, that also adds some considerable weight, but I'm not sure how much more.

yeah it has WS6 suspension. It loaded to the rim except its a LB9 and a 2:73 Gear. But i do have the JG1 Aluminum driveshaft, aluminum rear Drums, and some other lightweight stuff but i cant think of it right now. But i will convert all that over to the camaro if i do the conversion.

Wow... my little sister lives in Munford.... or Atoka actually
With that many optional things, it's probably closer to 300 lbs more than the Camaro, maybe more. The Camaro should be in the mid 3300 lbs range, the GTA close to 3700.
The Firebird will always be a little heavier on the nose. But you can get them within 50 lbs or so.

Really? Whats her name? She Younger? What do you think the weight would be around if I did this to the Camaro:
1) Stripped everything (seats, "ground effects", door panels, carpet, etc.)
2) Added 2 lightweight seats(ie. racing, plastic etc.)
3) Added tubular A-Arms and a Lightweight Torque arm
3) Used the Aluminum Driveshaft and Aluminum Brake Drums
4) Add the 350 w/ TPI w/o A.I.R., A/C,
5) Used Stock IROC rims
Wish they made a fiberglass hatch back like they do for Malibu's and Mustangs. My Goal is to out-run a LS1 using stock internals, heads, and Intake, but just port everything and adding simple bolt-ons like AFPR, inj., prom, ignition, exhaust, etc. and being N/A.
