zinc washing rotors..
is it possible to have rotors zinc washed, who does it?. if so what are the benefits of it. i know it looks nice and stuff but is there any performance gain or extended life of parts or somethin.

You can send the rotors out for zinc plating. It will help keep them from rusting in the areas where the brake pads don't make contact. The brake pads quickly wear off the plating , leaving that area subject to rusting if the car sits idle for long. You'll pay a lot less if you buy zinc plated rotors from a manufacturer rather than having one set plated on your own.

the gm rotors have 1 week of wear on them unprotected just to show you how quick it happens. that's purely from car washing as well since i don't drive the car in the rain.
it was a 50 dollar option with my baers although i'm sure it would cost alot more in your situation. anything beyond half the price of the rotor i wouldn't do it. the eradispeed rotors come zinc coated with all the bells and whistles but run 250 a piece so they had better last.
i tried to clear coat just the hub area of the gm rotors in an effort to protect them with no luck. check with a local chrome plater in your area as they tend to do zinc, copper, etc. and might be able to help you. if they can't or it's too expensive try powdercoating. it won't help with the vains but at least the hub area will be clean and it will be cheaper.
