Track-Link VS Torque arm

I keep hearing great things about Global West's track link kit, i would like to know if anybody can compare it to a more conventional torque arm. It sounds like it will aid in Handling and traction where i have head that a torque arm can sometimes negatively affect handling. The Track Link seems a little flimsy compared to a regular torque arm. Whats your experience??

i bought my track link a few years ago and love it. its a pain to put in butworth it to me. i have had it in my 91 and then put it 89 now. it even stiffens up the car with all of the mounting hardware.

does the track link increase noise? It looks like there is one bar from the bottom of the differential, is there a top bar too? The pictures on the globalwest site suck. I assume it forms a triangle then the point attaches to the bar that bolts to the floor. How does the triangle arrangement attach to the bar on the chassis?

The Global West torque arm is by far the best short street car torque arm on the market. I have one in my car and it has no road noise and the best part it hooks hard. My car has Global West rubber bushing control arms and the torque arm and last week cut a 1.59 60ft at Fontana speedway a track thats a street legal only track so it has very little rubber down on it.

do you have any pictures? I would like to know how it attaches to the cross member. My crossmember is moved back because i have a tremec TKO. So you don't think there is a downside to the track Link?

there may be a problem with using your TKO they are only made for stock transmissions as far as i know. one other thing is that they weigh alot more than the factory piece. but well worth it , i would not run anyother kind of tourqe arm, it hooks like hell comming out of a corner.

The right side ofthe crossmember is moved back about 1-2 inches. The kit that comes with the TKO lowers the crossmember about 1 inch and moves the passenger side attaching point back. i plan on releiving the tranny tunnel to raise the crossmember back up to the stock height so i don't think i can use any of spohn's kits. besides i think the track link would work better because it seems shorter. How does it attach to the crossmember? I would like to know what i need to modify before i spend 600 bucks.

I'm under the impression that the track pac is optimized fort drag racing. The track linl seems to be more of a road racing item. I don't really know what differentiates them but that was my impression. also isn't the track pac a more involved install?

The arm bolts in to the stock cross member from the top and the brace mounts under it. For your car you may need to cut and shorten it a little bit.

The front mount of the Global west arm can twist or move in and out with no bind thats what makes it a road race part. If you drag race only than get a arm that will not let the rear end twist like a big drag race only rear sway bar.

GASP!!! A FRAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Say it aint so!

The Traclink is a pretty nice unit. But just an FYI for those that don't know - The newer Spohn TA design and the one I have (S&W) also allow free movement in and out and, when equipped with a heim joint, also allow free twisting motion. Just say no to bind .

Of course, there really is no point in even approaching the bind in the rear suspension issue if you don't have heims in the LCAs (and PHR to a lesser extent)....

it seems like the shorter style would work better. I lake that it frees up space behind the tranny too
