Car sitting crooked. Help!

I looked at my car this morning and noticed that my car is sitting crooked. the front suspension is fine, and when I put my hand between the tire and the fender in the back two wheels, I notice that I can fit almost a whole hand in between the right tire and fender, and on the left side only 3 fingers fit. I can hear a slight sound when going over speed bumps, but It's hard to describe, kinda springy but kinda rattly also. What could be wrong with the suspension? Thanks.

well i would jack the rear up and then put jackstands under the frame points, so the rear can hand all the way down w/o the tires touching the ground, make sure the springs isolators are on top of each springs and make sure they are seated on top of them right, and then check for the bottoms to be seated in the rear end correctly. a mis aligned/adjusted springs would most likely cause the car to sit crooked.

Car: 1986 Firebird
Engine: 2.8 V6
Transmission: 700R4
Also check the upper shock mounts, where the upper shock stud goes into the body. You'd have to remove the carpet from the tilt behind the fold-back rear seat. The upper shock mount is just thin sheetmetal; it fatigues, cracks, and busts thru. Hopefully this didn't happen to you... happened to me on both sides, and man, it sucked to repair it. (I bolted 1/4" of steel up there.)

Did u figure out what it was sometimes mine seems to be just like that but i think it could possibly be the tires one is newer.Alot of times the ground is unlevel also which makes a difference i would think. Also i cant remember if when i changed rear if i tightened the bushings when it was under load but i think i did if that could do it i dunno. I installed sfc's so if it was a little crooked that isnt good. I installed new springs but i took my time and made sure they were seated good.Thanx

My car sat uneven too.

I jacked it up and set the rear end on jack stands to see how the springs were looking.

One spring was sitting on a coil and the other spring was sitting on 2 coils. I'm trying to say that I could see that one spring was weaker than the other. My springs were also the originals and were 15 years old.

I replaced them w/ lowering springs and the car didn't lower.
