Are PST polygraphite bushings worth it?

I was talking to a fellow thirdgenner about possibly getting the polygraphite front end bushing package from PST.com. He told me that it is better to go with plain rubber bushings because the polys can bind up under hard cornering. Is this true? And if it is, are they still worth it, or should I go for the rubbers? Thanks guys,

Steve

If you install it right and have it very very very well greased.... There isnt a problem with binding at all. I have a PST fron end kit in my RS for over 3 years now and I still love it to this day. I cant wait till when I get the extra $$ to install the same kit in my IROC also. The differance between the 2 cars is kinda incredible just in the steering department.

Thanks, that's good to hear! Is there any special way that the grease should be applied, or should I just use A LOT and re-grease it every so often? Thanks,

Steve

I just slapped as much as I could on the bushing and where ti rubs agasint the mounting points. The biggest thing that makes poly squeek/bind is dirt. When ya tear everything apart you should clean as much as possible. just ti insure that there isnt any dirt at all.

Ok, that sounds like a plan then. Do you clean and regrease everything like once a year or something, or have you just been fortunate enough to not experience any problems with them since you installed it? Oh yeah, about how long did it take you to install the bushings, and did you need any special tools? Thanks a lot, you've been a HUGE help, I've been wanting these things for a loooong time... (actually, I had the money saved up and was ready to order them, but then I spontaneously blew it on an XBOX - chalk it up to stupid youth!!!)

Thanks

I had to a few times till I figured out the best way, I think, that it would work.. After about the 4th time I got the right combo and works great. I havent had to grease them in over 2 years.

As for special tools.. None really. I paid a guy to press in all the new bushings and ball joints for me. Well worth the 30 bucks to have it done. Make sure ya have a good floor jack too.

For time wise it took me a few days cause, I sanded everyting and repainted it all. (much good that did me. damn NE winters )
