rear sway bar removal?

i have searched this topic thoroughly and have found many contradictory answers. my car is for drag racing and daily driving. i plan on removing the front sway bar for sure. i know most would not recommend this, but i can sacrifice not going around turns fast. i was wondering what the effects of removing the rear sway bar was on a car that doesnt have a front sway bar, and how does it compare to a car without a front sway and with a rear sway bar. i have read that running a rear sway bar and not a front will make the car be tight, but i also read it would make the car loose . i also read that a larger rear sway bar will help 60 ft times. however, several people said it would help to remove the rear sway bar to hook better. my options are stock rear sway bar on 88 camaro sc or no rear sway bar. i dont plan on buying one. anyway, can someone please clear this up for me....im pretty confused

heres how i see it, i took off my front sway bar it helps with the weight transfer. i think its a good idea for keeping a sway bar in the rear so it provides some more support in keeping the rear planted to the ground.

i have a factory stock ws6 24 mm rear sway bar.

i wouldnt trust my car with the front sway off carving turns, the front seems kinda easy to move around when pushed hard.

my car is a daily driver/strip.

I also run the rear bar only, I was also thinking that if I could see my car on video and if it pulls down hard on the right side that I might try putting in a longer link on the right side to preload the right side to help it leave flat.

Dooooonnnnttt remove the rear sway bar!!!

The rear sway bar is an indirect traction aid. The whole point of traction is keeping both wheels on the ground. The Sway bar resists the twist of the axle relative to the body, which is what happend when you put 350+ lb.ft. of torque thought the axle. I saw an editor for PHR say remove it fur wieght. Whadda maroon! I was pulling my hair out! I just imagine tons of weekend draggers doing 1 wheeled burnout for the first 60 ft in their attempt to save some wieght.

With our cars in peticular, since there are so many options for chasis regidity and sway bars, a REALLY strong set of SBCs and rear sway bars would do alot for keeping the wheels planted equally.

Hope that remedies your confusion!

Remove? hells no. bigger is better. Stop body roll and keep traction to both rear tires...

The rear sway bar helps keep the chassis straight when you launch. It would be a bad idea to take it off.
