Do I need to dissconnect my steering linkages to install Ball joints?
Just wanted to know if I have to remove the spindles to replace the ball joints. I will be removing the A arms and installing new bushings, but I don't want, nor do I have the money for a pickle fork, I'd rather just push that stuff to the side to do the job. By the looks of it I think it's possible to do this but I'm not positive. Will this work, or do I have to remove it all? I'm a bit limited on tools.

you can rent one from autozone. if you can't find one you can loosen the nut untill the stud is fluch with the nut and hit the control arm where the ball joint is with a BFH and it'll pop out, might have to hit it a time or two but it will come loose. also works for tie rod ends.

here's how i did it:

btw, a pickle fork is only like $6 or you can do as mentioned earlier and rent one. all the places around here give you a full refund when you return the tool. you'll need to rent/loan a ball joint press anyway so you might as well just get a pickle fork or the two jaw ball joint seperator while you're at it.
