Ok, I have some new struts and shocks already installed. I want to replace my springs with some which won't lower my IROC too
much. While im there, I figure I might as well rebuild everything.

I want to replace my whole steering setup, meaning the pitman arm, idle arm, centerlink, tie rods, ball joints, etc. Spohn sells a moog replacement kit, so this would be perfect.

I was wondering, I know I would need a balljoint compressor to get the old balljoints out, and the new ones in, but could I
uninstall/install the rest of the parts with normal tools?

Or would this require a bunch of improvised tools, or specific tools to get everything off?

ball joint press, pickle forks, coil spring compressor, and common hand tools is about it. i like to whack the parts that are going in the trash (sway bar bushings, ball joint nuts/studs, tie rod ends, shocks) with a torch instead of wrenching them off since it's lot faster and lot less work. look in your manual and you should see pics of what tools and their application.

you dont need a spring compressor, at least i dont think so.

I got my stock springs out without a compressor. Getting the lowering springs in during re-assembly....... I know I couldn't have done it correctly without a spring compressor.
Even then it was tough.

OK, you don't NEED a compressor. I used one and it was easy to use so I used it, and I didn't have to fight with the springs or possibly have an accident. Taking them out without one will be easier than putting them in without one.
