As he pulls the latch you pull up with a little force.

Try sprayin a little w-d40 on the latch assembly. Then put some muscle into it and lift.

If your under the car you should be able to see it. Its infront of the radiator.

Push the hood release handle forward (back in) after pulling it. I have noticed this with many third gen's, the release handle doesn't like to return itself. This can prevent the hood from releasing.

I've had that prob. I was able to get the thing open by pulling the hood release and then giving it a quick thump with my fist on the hood right above the hood latch. Try that...

Good luck!

Lots of cars do that; my 83 Z28, 91 Cadillac, and 74 Caprice convertible all do it.

The "thump on the hood" trick works every time, once you learn the correct "thump" technique.

Either the DMV screwed something up or the guy who had the car in August of 95 put 101,000 miles on the car in two months. You can probably spend some time investigating with your state's DMV, but it's mostly just hassle. With the accident on there, I wouldn't bother unless it's a part car. Just my opinion.

Car: Yes...
Engine: Last time I checked...
Transmission: See "Engine"...
Personally, I think CARFAX is worthless.

As for the hood, what works on my car when that happens is to pull the release, then grip the front edge of the hood on each side of the latch and gently giggle it up un down. The release should let go so you can open the hood.

Once you get it open, clean the latch well with some degreaser and lube it with some silicone spray.

he got it open, had to bring it to a shop but the shop guy knew just what to do. the latch had just gotten stuck, nothing wrong with the cable. im buying this car tonight, the accident it had wasnt too major, it just crumpled the driver side door. he picked up a door for $25 at a yard with same color exterior and same fabric on the inside so its not bad. fits on the car pretty nice so i dont think there was any major frame damage to the car.

my first thirdgen is here
