Tilt Steering moves 1" in all directions!

I have a tilt column in my '83 Z28, and for some reason, there is now about an inch of wobble in any direction were it pivots to tilt!!

It pivots around on the "hinge" that lets the wheel tilt on the column, and i dont know why. I never heard anything pop or felt anything break, and i can still turn the wheels so the linkage is still connected (PS works fine too).

Whats going on? Any suggestions on what to do? I'm totally lost.

Thanks in advance..
