I have Monroe's, they are fine if you drive mostly freeways like I do, not a performance unit though. Don't know much about Sumitomo, but I keep hearing that Kumho's are good and inexpensive.

I have also been running the sumitomo HTr ZII's a the last couple of years. No complaints here.

man go check out Pep Boys Futura Ultra Z's. I have P245/50R16's up front and P255/50R16 out back. I think they are $109 a piece. Hold up very well, do good in the rain and I cut a 1.8 60' on them last year during a 13.8sec run so they hook well. I could only cut a 2.0 with my BFG CompT/A tires that cost a whole lot more. SO dont rule out the Pepboys tires until ya check them out. Plus they are Z speed rated, 168mph, if you can can go that fast Mine only makes it to 163

I've had Sumitomos on my Formula for just over two years now. They were great until my recent accident. With flat spots caused by sliding into the jerk that pulled out in front of me they aren't too great now. I'm taking a serious look at the Kumhos now.
