Back and Forth motion at 45 MPH

I get a back and forth motion in the steering wheel at about 45 MPH, like about 1/4 inch. It's a fairly fast motion but not like a vibration.

I have a new set of rims and tires. Tires are BFG Radial TA's.

What would be the cause? Right or wrong I used to relate this to slipped belts in the tire??

Thanks for the response but I don't think that it's break related. The breaks are smooth and seem okay. I always torque the lug nuts and I know disk warp, my wifes 96 Cutlass has got it bad.

There is really more to my problem. As I have found through a search, 3rd Gen's are famous for the high speed shakes. Mine begins about 65 and is there for sure at 70. Didn't intend to make a double question out of this but maybe the two are related.

BTW, in addition to the new tires and rims, I've also had the drive shaft balanced. Each made some improvement, but not good enough for me or my 383, that wants to run.

Just thought I'd start out with the wobble that I feel through the steering wheel at relatively low speed, not right.

I feel like I'm on one of those fishing trips where the cost per pound gets outrageous.
