Eibach Sportline and 275/40/17 Fitment Issues?
I will be putting some 17x9.5" wheels on my car, and I plan on wrapping them in 275/40/17 Kumho ECSTA Supra 712's. Will I have any issues with rubbing if I put on a set of Eibach Sportline Springs? I plan on buying the tires SOON, so any help is appreciated. Thanks!!!

I would say no. I have 275/40/17 on a 9" wide ROH and have no rubbing at all. I have the sportline springs too. Now I do have a smaller tire up front. It is 9" wide but with the 245/45/17. I could have easly gone with a wider wheel in the rear without rubbing, so i would say no problems at all.

Well, I'm pretty confident about the rear not rubbing, my main concern is the front. I would like to be able to rotate the tires still, that is why I want to put 275 up front as well, plus, I like to take corners faster than a sane person usually does

I take corners to there limit so I know what you mean. if you get the same size wheel/tire on all four corners you will most likely only be able to rotate from front to back. Most high performance tires are unidirectional. My tires are staying put because they are unidirectional and I have different sizes for the front and rear. I do think you can get away with a 275 tire up front because I still have about 3" of clearance. I think you would be okay. You can see in my pic the clearance I have.

What are you driving? Do you have the quick ratio gear box with the built in stops to keep the wheels from rubbing? I don't and I'm running 245's in front and they do rub when I go lock to lock - only in the lower part of the wheel wells. I don't have a rubbing issue with the fender though - at any point. The width in back isn't limited only to the fender line but also the LCA, make sure you still have adequate clearance for them.

I geuss it all depends the wheel. All wheels will have a little bit different backspacing. besides the springs and a stut tower brace my front suspension is stock. I have had the car to its limits and have not rubbed. I wonder if it is my strut tower brace that keeps my front end from bending, thus eliminating potential rubbing. You may want to get one. ALso I bet the condition of your shocks plays a part.

Mine rub, I have 17 x 9.5 with 275 RE730's. I also have belltech 2" drop spindles and 1.5" springs. I did loose some of my turning radius. The tires rub the inner fender liner when in a full turn.

Well, I have a STB and SFCs, so maybe that will help my car not rub. Maybe I'll go ahead and get smaller tires up front just to be sure I dont rub. I know I'll only be able to rotate from front to rear, but at least I'd be able to do something. I do have a quick ratio box installed as well as poly endlinks and IROC swaybars and the infamous Wonderbar, so maybe all that junk up front will solve any rubbing problems I'd have? Am I really gonna see that much of a difference between running 275s and 245s on the front? A 275 is only 1.18" wider thatn a 245, so that wont hurt traction THAT much, will it? Dangit, this is really pissin me off I just dont want to have to order tires twice....

I would go with a 245 up front. It is just small enough to tell that you have a bigger tire in the rear, Which looks good trust me. A 245 tire has a little less sidewall than a 275 and will not flex as much. I am not sure if the difference in width is as much as 1.18", but it is small enough where the difference in performance is almost negligable. Any other suspension pieces will reduce the likelyhood of tire rubbing.

wheel offsets too
You could fudge around with the rim offsets as well as tire widths. If you're big on keeping the front tires HUGE then try diff offsets in front and back and rotating will be possible, just a lil less convenient since you have to remount, rebalance the tires... but it works :lala:
