question about snyper rims?
hey guys, i was just wondering, im in a big debate with my father that if you have rims like snypers with small spokes that they will look good. He argues not to get them because my rotors are always going to be rusty and look like crap, but if im always using my brakes shouldent my rotors be clean? i dunno, was just wondering, be sure to tell me if it takes a lot of cleaning up all the time to keep those rotors looking clean, thats guys.

Well...
The brake surfaces per se will be relatively clean as you
suggest. The area at the top and the fins in between
will rust. (This is the primary reason for "zinc washing"
If you are going to replace rotors any time soon
you can electroplate your new rotors yourself
(Your dad might be impressed with your interest
in electrochemistry )

I personally don't judge a car buy its exhaust noise. What impresses me most when I pull up next to a car at a signal is when I look over and see binders like that. You have to make a car stop faster before you can make a car go faster.
Very impressive super.

Well what are you going to do? Get the brakes first and hope they cram under your stock wheels? Buy the wheels and brakes at the same time? You gotta get there somehow, and if that means driving around with tiny little rusty rotors under your shiny new wheels for at least a little while, then let it be.

good point
hmm, bad news, i sent my money in for snypers about a month ago, and 3 days after i sent it (the lady said they had them in) she calls up and says "we dont have any of those wheels in stock, and it wont be another 9 weeks until we get them" , so i got the money back, and now i sent the money in for chrome 17" iroc-z rims, so we'll see how those look on the car, though thanks for the help guys, im a lil wiser and i'll know what to do once i buy new wheels next time.

no i never saw mr.iroc-z's convertiable, do u have a pic of it? wow im in a good mood, i went out yesterday to buy 91 RS gfx, got every single piece in perfect condition except the front lower spoiler. I am going to repaint them myself and put them on, then save up for a new complete paint job of the car.

Um, yeah I probably have one around here somewhere...
Just his are 18s, not 17s, but the look is close...
Oop, well, I have two pics, but they're both 500k+, and I'm too lazy to resize them right now. So here's someone elses' red vert with 18" IROC rims.

There is absolutley no problems at all running the Baer's on the street. The base price on the kit is $995, but after you add getting the rotors cross drilled, slotted and zinc washed it runs the price up to $1265 delivered to your house. Then when you send them your old spindles they give you back $150 of that so they end up costing you about $1115. The kit comes with modified spindles, rotors, calipers, pads, wheel bearings and stainless steel lines. They are very complete.
