I want to cut my front springs, how TO??
Hi Guys I know I read it somewhere and I know it is probably on this board but can someone give me the exact step by step instructions on how to lower my front spring by 2 inches by cutting them.
Thanks, Jamie

Each half of coil you cut off the spring is roughly an inch. Use a cut off wheel to cut them off, never a tourch because it puts to much heat in he spring. You can cut the spring and make them work and look ok, but you would be a lot happier if you just saved up the money and bought a set of Eibach springs.

Actually if you sent me your money I would be happier.
You can do a fair amount with the spring selection at hand...
Roughly...
The springs you have are reasonably likely to be ...

If you cut the springs you will be moving up in stiffness
If you start with a BZX spring or BZY you will be getting
mighty stiff and should consider a correspondingly stiff
strut.
Two inches is quite a bit ...
I would cut a half a coil and call it even...
Two inches will dramatically reduce the available travel
It will almost certainly result in a significant amount
of bump steer.
If you "must" have two inches...
and actually need to drive the car (other than styling)
consider dropped spindles....
As for doing it ...
look for ebmillers postings on front end rebuild
and add a step where you pull out your cut off
tool and cut the spring...
on front end rebuild
