As the title says which is better KYB's Gas-a-Just shock for the rear or there GR-2 shock for the rear?

 

If you read about them on the KYB site, it says the GR-2's are more for a better ride with decent handling, and the Gas-A-Just's are all about better handling.

I bought the GR-2's a couple years ago because they were cheap and they were 10 times better than my old worn out shocks, but I always thought they were kind of soft.
Now that I read this, I'm going to replace them with Gas-A-Justs real soon.

 

I think for our Thirdgens you can only get the gas-a-just for the rear shocks and the GR-2's for the front struts. At least when I purchased mine that was the only way to get them. Personally I didn't think they were stiff enough and swaped out the front struts for a pair of Bilsteins. I have yet to do the rear.

 

I have the GR-2s up front and the Gas-a-just in the rear, and I couldn't be happier with them Great for daily driving and the occasional spirited driving.

 

i got GR-2's all around. The price was right (i think 130 something), and they were a much needed improvement. My old shocks were all original on my '88, and after taking them off they still have yet to fully extend back out (like a week ago). As for the ride, for a daily driver they are great.

Which one is a harder more sporty ride?

 

If you want a performance minded suspension, don't skimp on shocks/struts. Save your money to buy a set of Koni's. There IS a reason why good roadrace shocks cost more.

The reason is- they are manufactured with higher quality valving allowing the driver to feel the road, unlike a gas KYB that does not have much rebound force and will more "float" the feeling of the road and not handle as well.

KYB's are alot better than stock shocks though.

This is the best I can explain it to anyone who hasn't ever driven with a true performance roadrace shock.

 

how much are Koni Yellows for our cars? What about Bilsteins? From my understanding Koni's are a better shock but also a lot harder... Bilstein's are a little nicer to ride with ...

89 Iroc Z, the Gas-A-Justs are a much firmer, better handling shock over the GR-2's. Check out the kyb website.

My brother just got a set of gas-a-justs, and they're alot harder to compress than my GR-2's for the same car.
