Whats the biggest rear tire for IROC rims?

I am currently running 225/50/16's on the front and 245/50/16's on the back. The fronts gotta go...they don't fill the wheelwell

I want to go with either a 235/55 or back to a 245/50 in the front, but I want some tire out back. 255's just don't seem big enough and I want a big/little look while still using the stock rims.

Kumho sells a Victoracer autocross tire in a 265/45/16 or a 275/45/16 that I'm thinking about trying on the back.

Give me some opinions and pics if you have them.

Thanks in advance

255 is the maximum I would go on a 16x8 wheel. When you go wider than that, the tire becomes deformed--hurting performance and tire wear. It looks funny too. Big and littles only look cool with 15 inch wheels IMO.

I agree. Check out www.tirerack.com Find the tire you’re interested in and go to Specs. Lookup recommended rim width. I’d strongly suggest adhering to that recommendation.

Yep 255 is the largest recommended for 16x8" Wheels.
I'm running 255-50ZR16's on the rear
and 245-45ZR16's on the front.

yep, I had 245/45-16 on the front and 255/50-16 on the back and the car to me look like ****, didn't like the look at all, so I put the 255/50-16 all around and looks alot better, now today or tomorrow i'm going with 245/40-18 all around with my new IROC rims 18x8, will post some pics when finished.

The Kumos overall diameter is smaller than the 255/50/16. Go to tirerack and then to specs.
