URGENT PLS HELP: 245/45 Low Load Index?!

The guy at tirerack.com called to say that the 245/45/16s I ordered had a load index that's 100 lbs less per tire than is recommended for 3rd gens. I have an aftermarket hood which makes my setup 50 pounds lighter.

Is this a problem?

The load index is the standard load index for 245/45/16s -- 1477 lbs...

Do people who went for 245/45/16s have any regrets they did not go for 245/50s? (other than the cosmetic fenderwall gap diff.)

I have less than half a day to decide on this, so any input is greatly appreciated...
