Parking Brake Light Will Not Go Out

Parking Brake Light Will Not Go Out
I just replaced my rear end, and everything went back in just like it came out. The problem is that my parking brake light will not go out now. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Is it that the parking brake is actually engaged or could there be a faulty sensor somewhere? I've already tried adjusting the parking brake and that did not help at all.

The parking brake light is attached to the ebrake lever. If you can put the lever all the way down, it will go out.
That light ALSO doubles as your "brake warning light". There's a sensor in the proportioning valve which detects a front-to-rear pressure imbalance. Since you just did the rear, look for brakes that aren't sufficiently bled or leaking. Does the foot pedal go to the floor?

Okay, next step is to isolate which circuit is turning on your light.
Go under the hood and disconnect the one wire connector on the proportioning valve that's located right under the brake master cylinder.
If the light goes out, then that's where the problem is. If it does not, the problem is at the emergency brake switch.

Depending on what year your car is, there may be a reset button on the back (towards the firewall) of your proportioning valve. Mine tripped after I replaced the the rear end and bleed brakes.

I bled the front brakes, and that seemed to fix the problem. For some reason, there was a lot of air in the front brakes, and evidently that was the problem. Thanks to everyone who helped with my problem.
