Yes, but we need to open up their eyes. They are missing a huge potential target group.

I'm working on it, but I dont know how successful I'll be. I've put out some feelers on this board, and only have a handful of responses. And now that I've realized you have to use their fuel rails, like the MiniRam, that'll probably push the price up to the same as the others, $1000-1200.

Hard to say what price, but if past history is any indicator.... Only thing I notice for sure is it appears to definitely not be smog legal, theres no heat crossover/EGR source.

Why the heck cant this stuff be 5.0 Ford priced? Same amount of material and development.

could we try this...?

Kevin, just let us know if you think it will help if we all get together and sign some sort of petition. I don't know how much weight that will carry but with the hit numbers this site has I am sure if we can get a significant members to sign up and maybe that will help your contact push the idea through at Holley. Please tell your Dad that if you guys get one as a prototype, please by all means feel free to install it on the IROC. :lala:

Re: Info on "Holley Stealth Ram"

Kevin,
Are you sure you have to use their fuel rails?
Note: "direct replacement on Chevrolet TPI engines" and "factory TPI upgrade"

Makes me think our factory fuel rails will work.

I suspect it indeed will work woth stock TPI fuel rails. But by looking at their target market, I see they are looking to replace carb's on street rods and "race only" cars. For this application they would sell it as a complete package including the computer to run it. As I see it, step one is for us to get them to CARB certify it. Step two is to get them to sell it in just the 2 pieces we would need (plenum & base). I'm not holding my breath.

If you look closely at the pictures you see connector between the fuel rails goes down and across, instead of straight across like ours. The runners on the lower intake would get in the way of our stock fuel rails.

My next concern would be hood clearance. This intake is out now and has been put on a few test cars at Holley, but I dont know what they are, other than they're <1973 vehicles.

I'll email my contact again tonight asking for pricing.

Notice the injectors are vertical in the manifold base? They are angled on a TPI manifold, so theres no way the stock rails are gonna work without some serious (and costly) modification.

Heh.

The 'universal' fuel rails I have seen arent all that expensive. Maybe Holley will do this right and not charge an arm and a leg for this stuff.

It looks like all they did was weld shut the runner holes in the stock plenum and cut two in the bottom, then weld it on a carb manifold with provisions for some fuel injectors. ****.. hand me a few tubes of jbweld and the manifold I can do the same thing :P

Looks quite a bit larger to me then the stock plenum not to mention that its not welded but bolted to the baseplate/manifold. But then again I guess you can't please everyone

rezinn,
JB Weld?

There's much more to this set-up than just the plenum. It's also how the base is done. It's essentially a TPI "tunnel ram" manifold.
