A 'Super Cruise' is a cruise that is over 100 miles from the start/meet point to the end. ...and correct, its usually just 3rd gens. However, we've had the occasional 4th gen or Fox Body join us on rare occasion.

Based on our Facebook event page count alone, this is going to be our largest San Diego County event since Carlsbad Raceway closed.
For those of you that are not on Facebook and are planning on joining us next week for this event, please let us know here in addition to how many others will be with you.
Jacob Cobb is hosting our club BBQ at his home after the Super Cruise. Lets collectively give him as accurate a number on who will be joining us at his home for our BBQ.
Those of you who live in San Diego County that are not able to participate in the cruise portion of the event but would like to meet up with everyone later at the BBQ, contact me and I will give you all of the particulars.
Thanks guys...

I may be able to make it but probably just interested in meeting up and looking at everyone else's cars. I can't commit to anything because my job is kind of an on call thing. It would be great to get together with some other 3rd generation fans.

Sunday Sunday Sunday!!!
Make sure and take the time to go through your cars from top to bottom. Look around your garages for spare/used radiator hoses, belts, water pumps, alternators, etc. I’ve been on several cruises where any one of these items would had someone back on the road in minutes instead of hours driving around looking for a parts house (usually in the middle of nowhere) that hopefully had the part.
If you are joining us for this Super Cruise please take the time to check your fluid levels, radiators, heater control valves, tire pressure, brakes, belts & hoses, air dams, and spare tires.
If you know your vehicle is not mechanically sound enough for an all day driving event, please do not bring it. This club has been around for over a decade so believe me when I say there will be plenty of other cruises you will be able to join us for in the future.
The more proactive we are as a club the less the chance of someone having a breakdown. Our club credo is to never leave anyone behind so if anyone has any concerns about being left on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere... Don't worry, you're good

I am up for this. Concerned about my spare - its the original almost 30 year old small tire. Is there something better available now?

I have LS1 big brakes so I'm using a fourth gen spare. It fits in the same spare location and you won't need a bottle to fill it.

If you do decide to join us, I wouldn't worry about it too much... There will be plenty of other 3rd gens that will be able to lend you one myself included. I always carry a 12V compressor, floor jack, and a AAA card in case something decides to go pear shaped

Re: SC3G San Diego Super Cruise & BBQ Sunday October 6, 2013 @ 10AM
Good morning everyone! When Jacob extended the invitation for us to end our event at his home with a BBQ. I asked him to get back to me with a number so we can all kick in and help cover his cost of the food and beverage. I just received a text from him and that number is roughly $300. So with that said, I would like to ask that everyone that is going to be attending the BBQ please kick in a minimum of $10 per person. Thanks guys ;0)

Re: SC3G San Diego Super Cruise & BBQ Sunday October 6, 2013 @ 10AM
The BBQ will include burgers, hot dogs, spicy grilled chicken, homemade meatballs & sauce, mild & sweet Italian sausages, and Brats. Assorted chips & dips (taco, spinach & artichoke, and southwestern), pickle & olive tray, and all the fixings you can imagine.
There is a patio set in the back yard and seating in the home. However, if you have a chair(s) please bring it/them as we are expecting quite a few people for the BBQ. Parking will be along the street and across from the house.
Again, if you have FRS radio(s)… Please bring them as they will be your only method of communication while we are underway.
All OC, IE, and LA members that would like to caravan down together, we will be staging in Krispy Kreme parking lot located at the Block in Orange. Staging will begin at 8:30AM with a departure time of 9:00AM SHARP!
Staging area address:
330 City Drive South

Let’s make it another good one, see everyone in the morning

Anotherfun ride. I appreciate the work you guys do to put this together.
I was a bit unsure how my car would do but after a good track record on shorter drives I went for it. Even though I had to break off just before Julian and head back for my sons baseball game I still racked up 259 miles for this trip. Since you guys are probably still eating BBQ I will have the first go with the cheesy cell phone pics.

Congratulations to all of our San Diego County enthusiasts on a great turnout for our Super Cruise and BBQ yesterday! A very special thank you to Jacob Cobb and his beautiful wife Randall for opening their home and setting us all up with quite the spread after the cruise. It was quite literally the perfect end to a great day.
You guys have a solid foundation to build your 3rd gen contingent upon down south. So stay in touch with each other and try to get together on a regular basis. If there is anything I can do to help you guys, please don't hesitate to ask... Great job yesterday everyone, I am very much looking forward to our next San Diego event!
Next up, our Vegas or Bust Run!

Had my car over 10 years, I've 2 tickets none for license plate though.
I think the cops the hassle you for plates are just being extremely picky
(nicest way I could think of putting it).
