SC3G August Meet, Cruise, & Bonfire Sunday August 4, 2013 @ 2PM
Our August meet will be held at:
Ruby’s Diner
245 North Harbor Drive
Redondo Beach, CA 90277
(310) 376-7829
Ruby's Diner
We have reserved the patio as well as a portion of the parking lot. We will receive 2 hours of free parking with a Ruby’s Diner validation. After the 2 hours is up, it is $2 for each additional hour. It shouldn't be a problem as we will be departing for the cruise and bonfire well before our time is up.
Our meeting will be held outside on the patio portion of the diner so we can enjoy the ocean breeze and our cars as a backdrop.
The cruise route will be through the switchbacks of Palos Verdes, down through San Pedro, over the Vincent Thomas Bridge, through Downtown Long Beach, Belmont Shore, Seal Beach, and end with a bonfire at Huntington Beach.
As always our meetings are open to all members from all areas and 3rd Gen owners so please feel free to pop round and say hello!
As always if you have any additional questions or if there is any additional information I might be able to provide you with please don’t hesitate to ask.
See you there!

For those of you that will be joining us for the bonfire. Remember to bring whatever you would need for an evening on the beach. Chairs, blankets, coolers (nonalcoholic beverages only), snacks, and can't forget all the goodies to make s'mores.
Additionally, there is a $15 charge to park in beach lot that is adjacent to the fire pits. If you don't want to pay the $15 parking fee, there is metered parking available on PCH for $1.50hr on a first come basis.

Those of you that will be joining us tomorrow please remember to bring your FRS radios as they will be your best form of communication during the cruise. If you would like to join the caravan along the route please have your FRS radios tuned to channel 3 so you can listen in as we will be announcing our location periodically in an effort to let people know where we are once the cruise is underway. See everyone tomorrow afternoon

How about sometime in September/October. That should give us enough time to set something up. We can meet up in San Luis Obispo...seems like a good halfway point for the North and South....

Ok, I've just sent a request to join the page. We can get a conversation going behind the scenes on Facebook and once we've got the main particulars hammered out, start running some polls on dates and such

Real quick guys, if you are attending our event today and planning on eating together as we always do. I'd like to ask that please be at the restaurant no later than 2:30 as this is the time I have told the restaurant that we will be ready to eat. In the past we have had people show up much later that everyone else and order food well after we've finished and left the dining area. Which in turn has delayed our departure for the cruise and forced others to pay for parking because it has gone outside of the 2 free hours window. So in an effort to tighten things up a bit, here is today's event schedule:
2:00-2:30 - Arrival & Vehicle Staging
2:30-3:30 - Lunch, Member Introductions, Upcoming Events, & 50/50 Raffle
3:30-3:45 - 3rd Gen Social (Bullshit and Checkout Rides)
3:45-3:55 - Drivers Meeting (Cruise Overview and Route Information)
4:00 - Departure for Cruise
Thanks guys

Re: SC3G August Meet, Cruise, & Bonfire Sunday August 4, 2013 @ 2PM
I'm gonna be there. Just gave my car the mechanical once over. And for those interested, I am giving away a 140 amp chrome Powermaster alternator (minus the pully, you can use the one from your exisiting car) which has only about 2,000 miles on it. Didn't care for it and didn't really see any noticeable difference in power. Free if you want it.
And...since I can't use this anymore since my serpentine pully upgrade, a dual snorkle air intake. Fully restorable, needs the right termac piece which I took out to put back on my single. The vacuum hoses and the clip that holds the termac bi-bimetal temp sensor which can be transfered from a single. A good sanding and some spray paint and you're good to go. And this is free too if you want it.
Just come up to me at Ruby's. First come, first served.

Thanks to everyone that came out and joined us from far and wide for our August Meet yesterday. Another great turnout and lots of new faces and rides. The cruise was smooth, the weather was perfect, and the bonfire was super chill and sticky sweet! Thanks again guys!
