SC3G June 2013 Meet & Super Cruise Sunday June 2, 2013 @ 12PM
Our June 2013 Meet & Super Cruise will begin at:
Telly’s Drive-In
31703 Castaic Road
Castaic, CA 91384
(661) 775-8100
Website
To all OC, IE, and SD members, we will be staging in the Wal-Mart parking lot directly in front of the Sam’s Club gas station in the Long Beach Towne Center. Staging will begin at 9:30AM with a departure time of 10:00AM SHARP! We will not be waiting for anyone that is running late.
Our route to Castaic from the Sam’s Club Gasoline Station in the Long Beach Towne Center will be 605N – 5N
Staging area address:
7250 Carson Boulevard
Long Beach, CA 90808
We have a target arrival time of 11:15AM at Telly’s Drive-In in Castaic where we will enjoy lunch together with 3rd gen owners from all areas, check out rides, and have a drivers meeting before departing for our Super Cruise.
The Super Cruise will be filled with 120+ miles of amazing scenery, switchbacks, and straights guaranteed to please driver and vehicle alike. As always, I have contacted CHP in addition to other local agencies to inform them of our event, date, time, cruise route, and approximate amount of participants. This is a cruise not a competition and anyone found attempting to test the limitations of their vehicle and/or participate in a speed contest as a participant of this event will be stopped, asked to turn around, and/or have their vehicle license plate and description forwarded to CHP. We ask that all cruise participants please govern themselves accordingly.
If you wish to participate in the Super Cruise you (drivers & passengers) will be required to sign a Release and Waiver of Liability Agreement in order to receive a route map/wristband and participate in the Super Cruise.
Those of you that will be attending please remember to bring your FRS radios as they will be your best form of communication during the cruise. If you would like to join the caravan along the route please have your FRS radios tuned to channel 3 so you can listen in as we will be announcing our location periodically in an effort to let people know where we are once the cruise is underway.
The Super Cruise is approximately 3hrs (120+ miles), will start at Telly’s Drive-In in Castaic, and end om the coast in the Carpinteria area. Upon completion of the Super Cruise attendees from the IE, OC, and SD have the option to regroup and caravan back together.
As always if you have any questions, comments, or to RSVP please feel free to contact me

Ok passed smog finally. Those jerks charged me $94.50 and they still tried to fail me. So just have to pay the registration and ready to go for the show.

Well that's the wierd thing. Since I've had my car from 1993 to now, it has had a new cat and the car has been tuned to run on 91 octane. My engine runs like day one from factory. I am very disapointed with the State of CA trying to get our cars off the road when they are running fine and better than most new models.

Re: SC3G June 2013 Meet & Super Cruise Sunday June 2, 2013 @ 12PM
Alright guys, we're a little lass than a couple of weeks out...
Make sure and take the time to go through your cars from top to bottom. Look around your garages for spare/used radiator hoses, belts, water pumps, alternators, etc. I’ve been on several cruises where any one of these items would had someone back on the road in minutes instead of hours driving around looking for a parts house (usually in the middle of nowhere) that hopefully had the part.
If you are joining us for this Super Cruise please take the time to check your fluid levels, radiators, heater control valves, tire pressure, brakes, belts & hoses, air dams, and spare tires.
If you know your vehicle is not mechanically sound enough for an all day driving event, please do not bring it. This club has been around for over a decade so believe me when I say there will be plenty of other cruises you will be able to join us for in the future.
The more proactive we are as a club the less the chance of someone having a breakdown. Our club credo is to never leave anyone behind so if anyone has any concerns about being left on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere... Don't worry, you're good.
Remember guys, safety is paramount!

I'm hoping to come out. Interested in getting to know some people in SoCal. I'm just hoping my car is going to be good to go. I know it can handle the drive seeing as I drove it from Chicago to LA but it's getting a re-built trans put into it and I'm not sure what kind of shape it's going to be in by then.

As of this morning, 8-10 cars... However, history has proven that it can easily be as little as 2-3 or as many as 10-15. You never know... You are welcome to contact me on the way in to see what the head count is...

Well I did a road test on my car yesterday morning. From my house, to 105 frwy, to 405 frwy tunnel, exited on roscrans to pch and then drove around the peninsula and back home on the 710 where i opened it up to get some cobwebs out. so far so good. just a minor tweak and i should be there. if not, then maybe next run.

For the most part. Still havn't charged up my A/C as I am still debating on R-12 or R-134. But oil pressure, electrical charge and temp were all perfect. But man, I almost regret gutting out my old sort of soft stock suspension for the 1LE spec. stuff I got from the dealer ages ago.
Hey, when you're young, everything has to be bad a**. I felt every imperfection on the road. Talk about driver feed back.

In the event the fire changes direction, all we have to do is change the route so either way this event is not going to get cancelled.
As far as attendees, we are looking at anywhere from 16-24 cars. However, as always there is no way to know for certain until we're underway.

So my car won't be done in time. How often do you guys get together and do these cruises or even just gather with the cars at a drive-in?

Thanks to everyone that was able to make it out to our Super Cruise yesterday afternoon! Aside from a couple of minor mechanical issues, it was another action packed cruise route laid out by our very own Rod Flory (trucker)! Our next Super Cruise will be toward the end of the year and in San Diego County. Thanks again guys ;0)

Well it's cool that everyone had a great time. Unfortunately for me, I guess I am not meant to go to these fun cruises. Each time one comes up something happens to my car. This time, the M.A.P. sensor decided to finally fail after 25 years. Oh well.

I think you mean 'D.P.S.' (Differential Pressure Sensor which delivers the readings in reverse) not MAP sensor... Make sure the parts guy gave you the correct part because if he gave you a MAP sensor the car will not run right...

It's the M.A.P. (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor with the tiny vacuum hose on it and E.C.M. connector. Got a code 41 and then 45 came out.
