The new time of 7:19.63 beats the previous 2009 Corvette ZR1s run of 7:26.4 by over 6 seconds. The new time also puts the 2012 Corvette ZR1 ahead of the Dodge Viper ACR (7:22.1), the Porsche 911 GTS RS (7:24) and the Nissan GT-R (7:24.22).

GM owners should be proud at the corvette team's accomplishment. At about 6:50 mark you can see the top speed run and it looks like it would have gone faster than 183mph if he didn't lift due to the wobbles!!

Please don't start a debate about how "my 327 SBC w/a carb could do better, etc."

To keep it thirdgen related, imagine an LS9 in a 3rd gen

That car is incredible. On the November 2010 issue of GM High-Tech they did a LS9 fourth gen that was really sick. They also did a Impala LSA and of course a N/A LSX 454 that was 620hp. I want all of those cars really really bad.
