Re: some pics of my ride lq9 swap
that shouldnt be to too hard, didnt LQ9's come from the factory with 350hp? that LS intake and free flowing exhaust would help it off the bat, plus i hear LS type motors really respond well to low back presssure systems.

Looks good. I would try to get the air filter away from the radiator though. Do something similar to TPI Terrors setup. Looks like it works pretty well.

Aside from the heads, it's mainly bolt ons. Those are beastly numbers even for the stock cam. Geez! imagine what it would do with ported heads and a decent cam.

[quote=keliente][quote=LSs1Power]We didn't do this for a long time now and we have alot of new setups in the past few months. Its nice to see what everyone has now. Everyone post the following:
1. Engine/Exhaust setup -WS6 02 LS1, Quarter Mile Performance Air Lid,SLP Mass Air Sensor, Smooth Flow Bellow, Modified y-pipe, & Magnaflow Exhaust
2. Fuel Setup - stock
3. N/A, FI or NOS - n/a
4. M6 or A4 - M6 stock clutch
5. Rear/Drive Shaft Setup - stock driveshaft
6. Dyno number and graph if handy. - 321.64hp/347.53tq (SAE) smoothing with mods. Used 91 octane gas. Dont have stock numbers.
should be close to an ls1 should produce more power then it

Hey, we are not even in the same league. Nothing to be scared about, as we know what the LSX motors will do, so I know my fate ahead of time when up against one.
We are just trying to squeeze some horsepower from an antiquated intake system that was developed 26 years ago and has been tossed aside by virtually everyone. There has been no new aftermarket support for years.
With heads and a cam that 6.0L car will be putting down some serious horsepower. In fact without a roll bar you will probably only make one pass before being booted. Make that pass a good one.

Downplaying that Beastly $12k motor of yours lol. Either way, hoping we both dip into the 11's @ LA Invasion

I should be able to get an 11.9 this time around regardless of the weather. We should see a few cars in the 11's this time around.
The motor looks pretty much like a stocker except for the headers and large airfilter.

There are some very respectable LT1's running around. I would not take them lightly. From what I can tell the "opti" is the weakness with the LT1.

I couldn't care less ...
My goal was to make power with a TPI and show (and help) others that it can be done.
Nuff said!

Yeah, the optispark is the weak point, but only if it gets wet. This is why the older ones were vented for that reason I believe. All depends on the pump. There is an "opti" delete option out there that I saw a few years ago. It involves the ignition system of a Cadillac Northstar engine if I'm not mistaken. Not sure how well it works, but will stick to the opti.

You're absolutely correct! 12K is an extremely conservative number to replicate Allen's current combination.

It doesn't matter how much you spend on any combo being TPI or LSX as long as you get the results you want. Everyone is not a racer. They just like a good running car.
Now a while back the 4th gen guys looked at the third gen guys like our cars ain't crap. This was a throne in our butts. The same results is now coming from some of the converted LSX 3gens now. This is why You get some of the attitudes here. We all know the LSX engines are better than Gen1 engines. Just don't rub it in out faces. Anyone can be beaten any given day. Let's just keep it for the love of the 3gen f-bodies.

I got tired of the BS and proved why the LSx can be a better alternative to a modified TPI. Now I've found out that the TPI's are not all they claim, they are just as expensive(if not more to make 420rwhp), not exactly smog compliant(modified headers), and require extensive modifications(custom porting, welding etc.). At the end of the day its whatever makes you happy
This is a LSx swap thread, back on topic. The LSx swap are slowly taking over

Re: some pics of my ride lq9 swap
I was never part of the tpi crowd so I wouldn't know how the 4th gen guys reacted towards these 20+year old cars. I wouldn't get butthurt cuz the real lsx guys are always faster at the end of the day.
A lot of business in the lsx world, new products, huge market, advanced innovations, tuning etc.
When I posted my dyno results on my ls1 build, two individuals in particular who commented on my thread "I make those numbers here on a tpi everyday" and what not. Good for you but I don't want to pay for your labor, it can be done adifferent way.
On a out of state ls1build I saw the same member stating " u should've stuck with the tpi, mine runs 12 s". And what not.
From my pov ive never attempted to promote lsx swap in every 3gen in so cal or gone into vincents or anyone elses build thread stating "you should've gone with an ls1".. .
