Re: Dyno Results

You out of state guys have to remember that all of the accessories are on those engines in the video and working. A lot of you guys had taken off the accessories and can not still make this power. It would cost you about $3500 with a stock SHORT BLOCK to get close to this HP. But the porting may cost up to $1000 if you can't do it yourself.

If his price includes the actual base, welding and porting, it is a reasonable price considering what this group has had to do to get this far, but you'll need to put something on top of it to get the best results.

To run with these dogs, you will need knowledge, experience, skill and money. If you have less of any particular one, you will need a lot more of the others. To be the top dog, you will need a lot of them all. (congrats Allen!).

How much you think these accessories rob HP? Far as I know the smog pump robs a couple of HP, AC nothing if it's not turned on, EGR is turned off when at full throttle, basically the biggest hurt to HP is cats but they make them pretty efficient now a days. Biggest difference would be the weight savings.

Think the water pump wil be the biggest robbing power.

Gooseman

I don't know if the manifold is still available or not, or the carburetor for that matter. I borrowed them from a shop and they may have been put on another motor and sold by now. That was from December of 2009.

That is one of the main reasons I dyno'd my motor to make sure everything was a go with no problems. Plus it is one way to break it in.

Think your right about that, though can't imagine there are that many out there running electric water pumps.
