SCTPI San Diego Casino Cruise - On Hold
As discussed at the Oct 23rd meeting, we will be driving down to Julian and Santa Ysabel Casino for dinner and gambling.
Don and I thought of meeting somewhere in Corona near the 91 and 15 freeways, and heading east from the 15 on Cajalco Road and Ramona Expwy, and then turning south and continuing on thru the countryside to Dudley's Bakery in Julian and then end up at Santa Ysabel Casino.
You do have to be age 21+ to enter the casino.
Since this is a dinner event, we'll be starting in the afternoon, around 2pm. Travel from Corona to Julian on this route is about 2.5 hours. Dinner opens at 4pm on Saturdays. I made us a reservation with the restaurant for 15 people. We will have to sign up for their player's club card to get the $5.95 prime rib special, but its free to sign up. They also offered to give us $10 in free slot play, and a roped off area for us to park our cars.
I need suggestions on where to meet in Corona for the Inland Empire guys. The OC and LA people can meet at Don's shop in Orange and travel to the Corona meeting point.

In almost 10 years of hanging out with you guys, I have not been able to convince my folks to go to ANY event, but they are actually considering this one.
Only if they drive their own car though.

Yes, the weather looks like rain on both Saturday and Sunday. That doesnt look good for either club's cruise.
Julie, of course your parents can come and yes its ok if they drive their own car.
My wife and I are going. Allen, tell Adrianne to come too.

Yes the weather forecast right now says scattered showers all weekend. You might want to leave the bike at Don's shop and ride with Allen in his Tahoe.
We'll probably skip the stop at Dudley's Bakery, too. They're open until 5pm on Saturday.

For those that want to meet at Don's Shop in Orange, be there around 1pm.
We'll be starting at the 15 Freeway and Cajalco Road around 2pm, and leaving shortly thereafter. There is a Mobil gas station, a Wells Fargo Bank, and a Jack in the Box on the West side of the 15 with plenty of parking for us.
Bring your walkie-talkies, and your jackets for the cold weather.
Dont forget some cash to gamble with, and your cameras.
See you there!

I'll be there around 1:15pm (if that's cool) at Don's shop, along with a little piece of paper with his name on it.

When would you like this event rescheduled to?
Saturday, January 8th?
Saturday, January 15th is our next club meeting.
Saturday January 22nd?
Saturday January 29th?
Another date?
Please respond here or on the SCTPI thread linked above.

My wife has Saturday January 22nd off from work, and I hope that date will work out for everyone else, too.
We can have our next club meeting on the 15th, and discuss our plans for the cruise at that time. Then the following weekend we'll have the cruise.

re: SCTPI San Diego Casino Cruise - On Hold
Sorry I haven't been online as much this month. I would still like to go if everything works out. It looks as though I may be having some mechanical problems with the car right now though. There is a noise coming from either the rear end or the transmission. I'm not skilled enough to tell and I haven't had it looked at yet. So depending on how that turns out it may not be wise for me to take the car on a long drive like that. Should the cruise still happen I could drive my rice burner, so I guess you could count me in either way.
As far as time frame, the 22 works for me.

Re: SCTPI San Diego Casino Cruise - On Hold
So I woke up this morning with a wild hair to go for a ride. With a party planned for the super bowl I figured it might be nice to have a pie to share with everyone. So off I went, to get a pie,..
I guess I could have gone to Albertsons but that’s no fun. It was a very nice drive, almost no traffic, but I do have to admit the air was a little too crisp to have the windows down and the scenery will be much nicer later into spring when everything is green again.
All in all it was a good time. I look forward to going again.
