So Cal Emissions Test
My car passed smog today Visual (yep!), functional and tail pipe checks. No special prep, other than driving it in a spirited manner for about 15 minutes before rolling into the Test Only Center. But, it didn't just pass; tail pipe emissions measured less than half of that of the average car tested, and were waaay less than the max allowed. It runs very cleanly.

Yeah, it just makes me want to tell someone, someone who has sense and who can change the rules under which our hobby is governed, that you can modify an engine and drivetrain (to the hilt, if done correctly), and still be very eco-friendly. And, tell them that we have proven, with their own testing procedure, that we know how to do it. For now, however, it will be a somewhat guarded secret amongst those in the know.

WHAT YOUR VOTE MEANS
YES vote on this measure means: Certain existing and proposed regulations authorized under state law ("Assembly Bill 32") to address global warming would be suspended. These regulations would remain suspended until the state unemployment rate drops to 5.5 percent or lower for one year.
NO vote on this measure means: The state could continue to implement the measures authorized under Assembly Bill 32 to address global warming.
I think you want to vote YES on prop23 if you want to suspend implanting AB32

Mod your car correctly, and you will have a lot fewer worries from / about the douchebags (sound familiar???) in office.

Re: So Cal Emissions Test
Passed again yesterday...with mods in sig....no prep, no payola. Test Only station in Los Angeles County. Same station as the last few years, different tech this time. Didn't really look at the allowables to see if they had changed, but my numbers, although higher than last test, were at about 1/3 of what the average car that passes puts out. Clean machine.
Hardest part of the test was getting backed out of the test stall...stalled 3 times. Gotta fix that...reverse comes in really handy.

Re: So Cal Emissions Test
Thats a handy link muIIet.I barely passed (again) by one point on HCs.Failed first time, NOX was a big fat zero on both 15/25mph, but HC & CO were 11-17 points to high.Adjusted my TPS from .33v to the proper .48v & my EGR was not closing completely, fixed that & went back.
Results:
HC @ 15mph 92, max 93ppm -@ 25mph 71, max 75ppm.
CO @ 15mph .28, max .57 % -@ 25pmh .39, max .43 %.
NOx (meas) was 31 & 0 ppm respectively.
To be honest though.I still dont know how it managed to pass w/ the max #s set so low.Two more years of hassle free ownership!

Re: So Cal Emissions Test
Passed smog test today, at a STAR Station, on the second try. HC was 1 point high (59 ppm) first try at 25 mph. O2 sensor was 'lazy.' Replaced sensor with OEM ACDelco sensor, and passed well below limits, pretty much below the average of cars that passed. Mods in sig are current.

Nice. I will be doing my smog test in a few months. The crazy person the had my beauty before me had swapped the heads out with what I believe to be pre 1976 SBC heads. There is no egr port on the head to intake mating face. So I get a code thrown for egr fault.
