2 Magnaflow catalytic converters for sale

2 brand new cats for sale. They are stainless, 3" in/out. bought these then saw dual cat conversion wasnt allowed for a single cat set up. Im selling both because my current cat is about a year old(same type), but I was going to run dual cats so I wanted them to both be new

120 each or 200 takes both. Would prefer to do this locally, but can ship at buyers expense. Im located in 92507.

Re: 2 Magnaflow catalytic converters for sale

I got them at a local exhaust shop with no box. The cats do have these inscribed into them

CA/CE 99000

94000 11 07

I looked that up and it comes up as the series. They do have an air tube, I passed smog easy when I had a 305 with stock tune and 24lb injectors

I would just convert to duel cats anyway. I doubt the smog people will give you any crap. If they do just go to the next location.

If you do not sell them try Dyno Don in Orange. He does these conversions all the time.

I know he does great work ( i have his headers) though driving 30 miles with open headers would be a little risky

If it does not have an E.O. number, it's a visual fail when it comes to smog check.

It will not fail. I just had my smog check 2 days ago and it passed. They want to tell you that the cats are no good because they want you to buy some new ones.

Not correct Vince. They can fail you if it appears that you have had old style catalytic converters installed post December 31, 2009. You have to prove via documentation (receipt) verifying that the converter(s) was/were installed before said date. If you can’t produce ‘proof’ of installation the smog station can fail you for having installed an old style converter after the law changed. I know because it happened to me a couple of months ago. I was able to ‘produce’ a receipt stating that the converter was installed in October of 2008 when in actuality it was installed in August of 2010. Smog shops are getting extremely difficult to deal with especially since the laws changed. California wants our cars off the road and crushed.

Re: 2 Magnaflow catalytic converters for sale

Well if that's the case then always go to the same smog station that knows your car and it shouldn't be a problem.

Nope, I had to go to a different smog guy this year because the one I had been going to for the past 6 years (who is extremely familiar with 3rd gens and has been for quite some time) was reluctant to touch my 100% stock LO3 even though all of the factory equipment (air cleaner, heat riser, exhaust manifolds, brand new egr valve, etc.) was in place. He did a couple of pretests for me which is how we discovered that the car needed a cat but was quick to tell me that he was going to check the cat after I had it installed. If it wasn’t one of the ‘new’ cats then he wasn’t going to touch the car. So I installed an old style cat and had to find another shop that was less then familiar with 3rd gens to smog it.

You can install an old style cat but you have to make sure that the production date coincides with the date you supposedly had it installed. For example, production date on the cat of 7/2008 and a receipt showing it was installed on 9/2008 no problem. A little paint for good measure doesn't hurt either It takes some research but with the right cat it can definitely be done…

Thats so if you are an undercover guy, then he is off the hook. Trust me, these stainless steel cats after a few weeks look well worn in, especially when they just peek under to see its in place. If you are going to take a pretest, go to a different shop for that, if needed fix your problems then go back to your original shop.

As for the cats for sale, I have the converter warranty cert/ installation statement for both cats too, if needed.
