SC3G Expansion
In light of all the new discussion of everyone wanting to "start a new club in 909, or start a new club in 562, etc....
...I personally read into this that its is a desire for regional events and gatherings to aid and assist the development of the larger SC3G club that has developed over the yearws by the senior menbers in this group and besically acquired and donated by Bret Donaldson with the support and funds of a few senior members to build into SC3G club and forums off of this TGO. I feel SC3G is a Chapter of TGO. We are the local So California region of TGO.org that has developed into SC3G ( or Southern Claifornia 3rd Gens).
May I now suggest a simple new subdivision for the recent outcry for new regional gatherings in local area codes? Well, this was just discussed in yesturdays meeting about labeing independant chapters...
......BUT....
.... In no way do I feel this is any result of people wanting to break off of the mother club of SC3G. It is simply a desire for more reional or chapter gatherings for those that want more local events and can not always travel to the primary meeting venues.
So we go to the subject of "chapters"
..and since it has been shown with several new posts of people calling for 909 clubs, 562 clubs, etc..... I think a simple chapter format should follow.
We are all SC3G and then you can break it down to regions or chapters based on area codes.
909 chapter
714 chapter
562 chapter
818 chapter
213 chapter
323 chapter
but all are subdivisions of SC3G...Who is ultimately a subdivion of TGO.
Lastly and most importantly. I think any chapter of SC3G should neer have a meeting agenda that will conflict with the PRIMARY SC3G bi monthly meetings. We can even gear further towards future inductions of board members being of each individual chapter next year if thse chapters are showing good support of lets say 5+ members at each bi monthly meeting. Chapter growth and support of SC3G will lead to much more regional events that will be open to all SC3gG members to have a variety of choices on any given day or night that is NOT a previously scheduled official SC3G club primary bi-monthy meeting.
Food for thoughts?
This should give anyone the platform to represent there regions and have their own local gathers while still respecting and displaying the SC3G logo.

Under events here or on SC3G boards, people can simply put a post topic headline stating with the chapter area code and list a gathering. Like this..... 323 gathering 2/21/2009. Then inside you list the details. Any individual member should be able to just list this. If you are going somewhere and want fellow 3rd genners to oin, then list it. SOmetimes people will show, sometimes not. It is simply a forum to let people know what your plans are and to invite others.
